Re: What make/model OEM tire with ORAII?

FYI - when I bought my 2012 GC with the ORA II package, the window sticker clearly stated "On/Off-Road Tires". When I got it and found the Latitude Tours, I raised hell with Jeep. The Latitude...

Re: The 2014 Grand Cherokee is quite capable off-road

The WK2 is fantastic off-road. I use it almost exclusively for weekend off-road trips here in Colorado now that I have another car for my daily driver. It's so awesome being able to drive a...

Re: Towing - High Engine Oil Temps

I suggest a high-quality synthetic oil. Turbocharged engines run at that temperature all day long and still do fine with extended service intervals, e.g. my friend's BMW 335i oil temperature...

Re: Breaking in my 2014 GC Limited

You want to vary engine RPMs and loads. Accelerate briskly, then let it decelerate, etc. Hilly terrain is ideal. Long periods at constant speed on flat highway should be avoided. Best to run in...

Re: Uconnect Access for the 2014 is a GO!!

Very cool!

Can you tell me what other new information is available in the gauge cluster screen, besides the wheel articulation display?

New information displays in 2014 EVIC?

The Car and Driver "First Drive" of the 2014 WK2 included the following picture.

Maybe it's just the gadget freak in me, but this is the best feature of the 2014 in my opinion! I'm not sure how...

Re: 2014 Test Drive Reviews

The diesel has 50 less HP than the V6. Why would you expect it to be faster in full-throttle acceleration?

It will likely feel faster and less strained around town, because it produces more power...

Brake fluid and differential fluid change intervals?

Two questions:

1) What is the recommended brake fluid change interval? The list at WK2Jeeps.com does not have it (Jeep Grand Cherokee WK2 - Maintenance information and schedules...

This is a survey of 2010 model year vehicles, meaning vehicles sold in 2009 and designed sometime around 2006. It has nothing to do with the WK2.

Re: I didn't realize that there was a Maserati engine under my hood

My understanding is that the new 8-speed automatic coming in the 2014s is also used in the Rolls Royce Phantom and Ghost, along with a slew of BMW models.

Nasty squeak from glovebox over rough roads

When driving on a rough road (e.g. eroded/washboarded dirt road) a bit too fast, I get a really nasty squeak from the glovebox area over severe bumps. By nasty I mean it sounds like plastic sliding...

Re: Disappointed In My New Bug Deflector

I guess they figured that, if you don't mind how dorky a bug deflector looks in the first place, you won't mind a little exposed hardware.

I tend to think of bug deflectors, mud flaps, and "bras"...

Biggest sidewalls that will still fit fenders/spare well

So, I have a 2012 Overland with the ORA II package. It came with 18" rims and 265/60 tires.

I would like a thicker sidewall for off-roading. A bit wider tire, too, if it will fit. I don't mind...

Re: Why do people buy 4x2 Jeeps?

Re: If you could do it over again?

Totally happy with mine. I think might have gone with Mineral Gray instead of black, I really like that color. But the black looks great when clean.

Re: Why do people buy 4x2 Jeeps?

I don't understand why anyone would buy a 4x2 Wrangler. But the Grand Cherokee is a nice enough all-around SUV in general that I can understand people buying it as a purely on-road vehicle.

Re: 2014 - reviews

At low RPMs, yes. But all "high torque" means is "high horsepower at low RPMs". The V6 has higher horsepower overall, so it's maximum acceleration will be higher. But you may have to rev the shit...

Re: 2014 - reviews

The diesel has lower peak horsepower than the V6 but higher torque. This means it will perform better at low RPMs than the V6, but its maximum acceleration will be lower than the V6.

So, the...

Re: First Look: 2014 WK2 Likes/Dislikes

Re: Official 2014 photos released!

Looks like the control backlighting is now blue/white, instead of green. That's a real nice change, the green backlighting was pretty dated.

Re: 65RFE 6spd Hemi 4x4 Trans issues anyone?

Re: 2013 5.7 Performance Package

There's nothing you can do, short of a turbo/supercharger, that will "open up" the engine at high altitude. The air is less dense, so the engine can't burn as much fuel. An intake and exhaust won't...
