Thumbs up Re: High Engine RPM on Startup

I removed and inspected and replaced the TPS and strangely, the problem went away. This confirmed the TPS was the problem. I bought a new Mopar TPS, $100, and installed it and start up idle is...

Re: High Engine RPM on Startup

Thanks, no fault codes. I took the TPS off but no obvious faults. Desert weather here with temps well into the 100's during summer so plastic and rubber parts just cook. Jeep is over 11 years old...

Re: High Engine RPM on Startup

I cleaned the IAC and the air channel very well. It improved the fast idle but it is still very erratic. Starts at 1500 rpm and then never really settles down. I see 600 to 1100 rpm just sitting...

Re: High Engine RPM on Startup

I wrote a bit too early. Today on start up, high idle RPM. I took off the IAC stepper motor and it was very dirty, looked like carbon build up. Cleaned it up, started engine and sprayed cleaner in...

Re: Good News and Bad News....

This seems to be the only thread that mentions the window washer reservoir. Mine has a hairline crack in the seam at the top of the reservoir. It leaks if filled over half way. I have a...

Re: High Engine RPM on Startup

Spent some time examining the air intake throttle body and found a cracked and broken vacuum hose. It is the one from the throttle body to a check valve to a "U" shaped hose coming off the rear of...

Re: High Engine RPM on Startup

Thanks, I've recently changed to a K & N cold air intake so maybe the dust and dirt got into the idle air control. I would hope not. Desert conditions here.

I do have an apple iPad with a wifi...

Re: High Engine RPM on Startup

Recently started to have this problem also. 2004 4.7 HO. Fast idle on cold start up and takes 5-10 minutes to go back to normal. Outside temps are 100F so engine is not really cold.

Re: Power steering fluid

I found that Valvoline Synthetic Power Steering fluid meets Chrysler and MS5931 specification and is listed on the label.

Re: Caliper rattle springs, need help where they go

I've had a rotational "squeel" from my left front ever since I had new brakes installed. This spring is installed on the outer pad on upper side. Would this be the cause of the squeel. The noise...

Re: 01 Jeep Noise in DriveLine??

I have a 2004 with Quadradrive. In cold weather, below 38F, for the first 5 miles of driving, I get a terrible screaching from the front drive line. I've had mechanics and most recently drive line...

Re: Front wheel bearing replacement

I had a bad left front hub and followed the directions above without problem. They are excellent. Very good directions. First one took about 2 hours gathering tools, going slowly, and changing out...
