iPad app for Jeep entertainment system

Wouldn't it be nice if there was a way to edit the playlists on the entertainment system hard drive from an iPad or laptop? Has anyone developed such a thing? It's not the simplest thing to add...

ECB Big Tube Bar

Attached are two pics of the ECB Big Tube bar on my 2011 Laredo. Does this make my Jeep look angry and mean? I hope the kangaroos think so.

Re: First gear mystery

Here's a good video about how a torque converter works (warning - heavy metal music).

Re: First gear mystery

I think this is exactly what's happening. Obviously the car can be stopped with the engine still running, so disengagement or slippage of some type is necessary. As the car speeds up, eventually...

First gear mystery

Ok, I admit that I have an obsession for how things work, but I don't understand automatic transmissions. If I put mine into first gear and start up a steep hill, I assume that I am in first gear...

Re: WK2 - Minor Fault Summary

I found (with the help of this forum) that the parking brake wire wears through and shorts out on the metal bracket it passes over. I taped up the worn section and solved the brake light issue.

Re: Kuhmo Solus KL21 experience

AT3's are going great. Got the four installed for $1500 and promptly ran over someone's discarded car radio antenna. Plugged and holding. Good tyres for the Grand Cherokee.

Re: No tow hooks? Front Recovery Soluition help

Sorry if this is a duplication, but ECB (Australia) now offer a Big Tube bullbar for the 2012. Here's the link.

Re: Advice needed.. V6 or V8?

I have an older (2000) V8 and the new (2011) V6. The 3.6l V6 reportedly has even more power and torque than the my older 4.7l V8. However, putting fuel economy aside, I like the responsiveness of...

Re: "Glass Jaw" front bumper

Mine is silver and the damage is hard to see, plus I've not yet taken it slumming (to the tip), haha. Pride in Phillip has ordered the ECB bullbar for me. There is an ECB bar for the 2012 (screw in...

"Glass Jaw" front bumper

After two recent slow-speed (under 40kph) kangaroo collisions :(, I have to say that the WK2 Grand Cherokee has a very tender front end. In addition to tearing holes in the plastic bumper, broken...

Kuhmo Solus KL21 experience

These are the original tyres sold with the 2011 Laredo I bought in Canberra in May 2011. I just replaced them at 18,500km due to wear. I do live on a dirt road, but I don't drive aggressively. ...

Re: Twitchy steering

Problem solved by adjusting the toe-in. There was a slight toe-out after the last alignment which made the car drive like a go-cart (where toe-out is desired). Now with 4mm toe-in, I have my old...

Re: Twitchy steering

I bought the new Jeep then started getting the old one back in shape. They spend a lot of time on a fairly rough road, hence the suspension work.

Thanks for the response. By "static alignment" I mean the alignment you do when the vehicle is in the shop - not moving, i.e. static. Done correctly, static alignment will achieve the optimum...

Twitchy steering

With 200,000km on the clock, I finally needed to replace all the suspension bushings, control rods, a couple of ball joints, etc. The suspension is back to new, but the steering is really twitchy. ...

Re: WK2 - Minor Fault Summary

Well done and thanks. I found the worn power lead, taped it and re-routed it. And I think I'll share this with the mechanics who could not find the problem.

Re: Spare tyre mounting options

Since I called this thread "spare tyre mounting options" it makes sense to ask, are there other options for keeping the spare, including, can it be stowed right-side-up?

Spare tyre mounting options

I have three wishes for my 18in spare. First, the spare is a 260 vs 265/60, so why not make them all 265s? Second, the spare is stowed with valve pointed down so you can't check the pressure...
