Re: HOW TO: Paint chrome trim

My only additional suggestion would be to use an adhesion promoter before primer. You can get a rattle can of it at any auto store. It just helps paint stick to plastic.

Good luck! Post some...

Re: HOW TO: Paint chrome trim

Nope. My only issue is the clear I used on the trim pieces did not harden for almost 2 weeks which allowed rain water to etch the surface. I highly suggest using 2K Clear...

Re: HOW TO: Paint chrome trim

Just ordered a new SRT-8 grill and am about to paint the door handles. It turns out that the Jeep dealer is unable to get the rear door handles in PRH. So I'm going to just paint the chrome part of...

Re: HOW TO: Paint chrome trim

Nope... Unfortunately you must remove the entire bumper, then remove the core, then the reverse sensors, and finally you can remove the trim.

Agreed. Thanks for the inspiration!

Yep, sensors work just fine. Almost wish I'd put more clear on them now.

The paint was Sherman Williams premium stuff. They had to mix up a pint to make...

Re: 5.9 sunroof leaking

A pretty common problem on Jeeps. The major culprit in most cases is just a clogged drain tube. On your ZJ there should be 2 drain tubes at either of the 2 front corners of the gutter tray (open up...

HOW TO: Paint chrome trim

This subject has been brought up multiple times and I didn't see a thread about it in here yet, so I thought I'd describe the process.

Supplies:

self etching primer...

Re: Max tire size on OEM wheels after OME 2" lift

With the OME 2" you should have gained around 3" in total lift. It is possible to use a larger tire than what can normally be used with 2" of lift from a budget boost which is 267/70/17 (31.9")....

Re: CRD Oil Level Checking ??s

Touche. You are right about my mix-up of terms. Though I still maintain that overfilling is bad. But agree that half a quart is not going to hurt a thing.

Re: CRD Oil Level Checking ??s

Not true! It can be just as detrimental to an engine to overfill with oil as it can be to run out of oil completely. If overfilled enough, the crank can come in contact with the oil, which will cause...
