Re: 130 to 430N upgrade - conflicting info

From what I've read as long as you have SiriusXM and uconnect it should be plug and play and have full-functioning features. There's been quite a few people that have done this swap and not had any...

Re: Questions about apps on 430N

As far as the app, there are no add-on apps for the 430N. The only way to get Pandora, etc is to run it on your phone and just bluetooth the audio.

Have you tried any other devices to see if they...

I believe 10.00.11 is the most recent version. I don't remember where exactly I found it, just googled around.

Re: 2014 heated seats question

I noticed this in the pictures. Seems the more "advanced" these infotainment systems are by absorbing more and more functions, the more complicated it becomes to use basic functions. Luckily,...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I doubt it, if they geared the V6 much higher it would be too far out of it's powerband to be able to spend any decent time in 8th. Even with the 5 speed and much lower final drive it has to...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

Can't really compare the axle ratio between two transmissions. The 8 speed should get better mileage on the highway as the 5th gear in the 5 speed is 0.83 while the 8th gear in the 8 speed is 0.667....

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I use my parking brake on decent inclines but that's it. I've never actually heard of anyone breaking a parking pawl and I'm assuming it's a hardened steel pin so holding a vehicle at a slight...

Re: Guys check this WK2 out....

Says 6 cylinders. I'd imagine the Hemi struggling to lug that much around let alone the Pentastar.

Mine has had a slight ticking noise for 2 years and 41k miles and no CEL. Most noticeable in drive-thrus when it has a wall to bounce off of. Just standing next to it when running it isn't that bad....

Re: ORAII package - weight

Well if you were already getting a 4x4 than the only weight difference would be the potentially bigger spare (claim it's a full-size, but it really isn't) and the skid plates which wouldn't add much...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

You can get AWY but it won't include Quadra-Drive II (limited slip rear diff) as it is not available on the Pentastar which I'm assuming is the reason for the price difference listed $295 vs $995.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

I'm sure it's fun but dayum! I'm leaning Hemi anyways (thinking I'll wait more till the end of 2013 though). I'm sure the Hemi and 8 speed will be plenty more fun than my V6 and 5 speed.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

So, I haven't seen anyone ask an obvious question. Will the 4x4 in the 2014s actually work in sand or will they bog down and revert to "Service 4 Wheel Drive" unless it's in 4 Low?

That Indigo...

Re: new 13, 3.6 question

I doubt they changed anything in the engine, just found that it helps get 1/100 of a mpg higher and doesn't hurt anything. All 3.6s have had VVT since it was released back in 10 on the 11 GC, they...

Granted, my last vehicle was a full size truck, but I find my GC very easy to park. Whip it in about anywhere. Much better than my mom's Edge too.

The manual shows them resetting pretty easy. Just get in the back seat and reach around and pull the head read backwards until it latches back into the plastic housing.

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee - Features & Changes

It looks like the Ram's bump was mainly due to removing the belt driven power steering pump for an electric one. If the GC goes to an electric pump on the Hemi than maybe it'll go up 5 or so.

I'm not too worried about it, there's several floating around here with decent mileage. There is an issue here but I'd bet it only affects a small percentage. I'm at 31k miles with no engine issues.

Re: EVIC has CD51 showing at the top?

Displays what you're listening to. I'm going to guess an MP3 CD on track #51 was playing.

On USB or bluetooth it'll say "STREAMING" and on radio it says something like "FM 92.4" or "SAT 10".

Re: Blue area on tach

My 2011 3.6 is hardly ever there, usually up-shifting between 2500 and 3000rpm. Maybe I've just adapted to it and keep my foot in it more.

Re: Blue area on tach

I believe its the RPM range to maximize efficiency or something similar but a fairly quick revving, NA V6 in a 2.5 ton SUV isn't going to spend much time in that range.

Xs, Limited, Overlands, and SRT8s have that system standard. The SRT8s have an optional 19 speaker, 825 watt, Harmon/Hardon system. Which I bet is pretty awesome.

Re: stock sound system

It is a pretty good stock system. It's marketed as a 9 speaker, 506 watt Alpine system.
