Re: Questions of Plastidipping

My thread here.

http://www.jeepgarage.org/f176/plasitdipd-grill-59144.html

Honestly it's less work to do it yourself then to take it to the dealer.

Re: Plasitdip'd grill.

I'm not sure what you are asking? The size is the stock tire size of the 17" factory wheel.

Mickey Thompson special edition. -17 offset so they stick way out.

Re: Plasitdip'd grill.

No I do not have a link but I think they are the AVS visors. I got them as a gift in 2011.

Re: Plasitdip'd grill.

Just matte. I was thinking of doing the glossifier but it really looks good like this so I think I'm going to keep it. My wheels are more flat anyway so it matches those perfect.

Re: Plasitdip'd grill.

So far fine. I even travel to work on a road that is being paved. It is all chopped up and dusty. I can hear rocks hitting the front end. It feels very durable. I'll tell you right now it's stronger...

Re: Plasti Dip Photos/Mods

Thanks. I get a lot of real life comments. A lot of people stop and look at it as well. I feel like people have never seen mud tires or something lol.

Re: Plasti Dip Photos/Mods

I did mine over the weekend. You just have to pull back the top cover under the hood up front. Pull it up and unhook the snaps. Then you will see a bunch of hooks where the grill snaps. Take a...

Plasitdip'd grill.

I think it turned out okay. I thought I would try this before getting professionally painted. The painter said that it would probably chip if he did it anyway.

I removed the grill and did...

Talk me into trading up to the V8 :)

Stopped in the dealer today for an oil change and went into the showroom. Basically I can trade my X for a limited for $50 to $80 less a month. I'm just not sure I will like the V8 enough more to...

Re: Some fun in the mud.

I think they can be buffed out. It's on the passenger side so I don't have to look at them much. Just the side bumper.

Thanks. I'm looking to just drop them in with my stock setup without an amp. I was seeing if there was a huge improvement just from that. I'm sure a new head unit and amp would make a dramatic...

Dropping in new components into front.

Has anyone replaced the front components for an upgrade in SQ without adding in an amp? What component tweeter fit in the stock location? I take it I wouldn't use a crossover in the setup since it is...

Does anyone have dyno results from exhaust AND CAI on the V6?

I'm just wondering what the max HP gain is from doing both these mods? I would like to add some power but will probably pass if it's a very small amount. Thanks.

Re: New RRO leveling kit, Done the right way!!!

You might be able to find something similar that will fit. These have a -12 offset so they stick out over an inch from the fender.

Re: New RRO leveling kit, Done the right way!!!

Mickey Thomson special edition. They are 17's and you will need the level to keep them from rubbing even if you run stock 17" tire size. You can probably go up a size if you have the level. I am...

Re: Anyone in UT that can donate their WK2 to Rocky Road for a level kit.....

I don't think that is correct. I contacted them before I talked them into making the level and they were going to sell me just the front portion of the lift but that would raise the front 2.5". ...

Re: New RRO leveling kit, Done the right way!!!

I notice this as well but this doesn't make sense to me. This just raises the body off the strut so I don't understand why it would make the spring tighter.

Re: Anyone in UT that can donate their WK2 to Rocky Road for a level kit.....

I can see that with new springs but just letting them out all the way for a couple hours while you work shouldn't have them not compress all the way back once you put weight back on.

Did you...
