Re: costs of servicing a diesel G.C. vs gas model??

Changed mine at around 28,000 miles and that is a long time for fuel filters.
My Super Duty was like 10,000 miles so I thought this was a huge improvement.

Re: Transmission Fluid Replacement at 50k.

My post was sent before I was done. To continue I am not pooh-poohing someone that wants to try alternatives to Life Guard. However a transmission fluid company that states their fluid is compatible...

Re: Transmission Fluid Replacement at 50k.

Transmissions are too expensive to try alternative fluids when ZF transmissions are specifically designed for their fluid. As I posted earlier there is no alternative fluid for this 8 spd...

Re: Rocky Road Bumper Bar/ Winch & ACC

I really like this system and I would be someone to get the winch. I have ACC and I don't want to loose that feature so I guess I will wait until they have the design or installation tweaked before...

Having seen the HID fogs they don't look bad. I ran them in my BMW and it didn't spread vertically either or blind on coming vehicles. I live in an area of fog at times but mostly no external light...

Re: Fog light bulb replacement

Bear in mind the life of the Silverstars will be shorter than stock. That is my experience. By the way having had to change the entire fog light on the driver's side the best way was to take the tire...

That is common on virtually every vehicle I have ever owned. I have only seen this on the original fill and that from what I can tell is not incompatible coolant sludge but actually is residue from...

Re: First Diesel Winter Questions

I see a drop of around what you see and it must be winter blend. I am in the Panhandle of Florida and temps hardly hit 20. Thus most of it has to be fuel. I have seen this now 3 times Feb 14, Jan-Feb...

Re: How long would the Eco Diesel last?

Yeah that is just about the worst thing you can do for a diesel. Running one dry causes a lot of problems getting injectors bleed for a restart. Happened to me only a couple of times over the...

Re: How long would the Eco Diesel last?

My SuperDuty at idle would use one oz per minute. The 1/2 gallon per hour sounds a little high so I would guess with a full tank 24.9 gals that would be what close to 50 hours of running.
You can't...

The only one I will be doing in that group is a drain and fill at 50k with Lifeguard 8. I see no need to do anything but that.

Life expectancy, fuel mileage, towing capability all exceed the gas engines but it is all what you want in life.
