It is on the left side of the drive train tunnel, around the position of the shifter. Maybe 8-10 inches below the top of the console.

You can see it if you pull the plastic panel on the driver...

Full agreement! No need to defend a GC, I think everybody here likes it and bought it on purpose. However, there seems to be an issue with it discovered by a Magazine who is known for doing this...
