My WK2 now has a manual fuel pump switch

Because I will possibly have to wait several weeks to get a replacement TIPM I went ahead and wired a manual fuel pump switch to the fuel pump relay on the TIPM today.

It works perfectly, but even...

Which wire goes from TIPM to fuel pump ?

My 2011 Hemi WK2 is also experiencing starting problems because the TIPM is not powering up the fuel pump (sometimes) which causes low fuel pressure during startup. The dealer has no idea when I can...

Re: Buying 5/6 speed a mistake?

I suspect that in terms of both fuel economy and performance, there wont be much of a difference. I get about 20 or 21 in the summer with my cruise set at 82MPH in my Hemi, with no traffic and a...

Re: Throttle body spacer????

With the huge incentive for all auto makers to improve fuel economy, I'm sure that the engineers at Jeep would have already done this if it actually worked.

Re: Is the 430 Radio any good?

It's a fantastic radio with the latest TSB applied to the UConnect module. Ipod/IPhone integration works perfectly both when wired in, and when using the wireless stereo bluetooth A2DP profile. ...

Actually, I have confirmed that "Normal" airlift height sits about 3/4" lower than a sprung (Non Quadra-Lift) vehicle. Some of the members on this forum have both sprung and quadra-lift Jeeps and...

Re: Synthetic vs. Conventional Oil, which to use 5.7L

Amsoil signature series 0W-20 and an Amsoil EAO oil filter for me with a 15,000 change interval after break-in. It's worth the extra $$ to me to only have to do an oil change once a year or so.

Re: Accelleration in the v8 vs v6

The answer has always been as clear cut as it gets, the V8 without a doubt. I expect that once magazines test V8's with the new transmission programming the difference in track times will be even...

Question Re: 4-Low Clunk on switching in/out?

Shouldn't clunk at all. Make sure you are in Neutral and moving no faster than a couple MPH when going in and out of 4 Low.

Re: driving mode?

Sport mode for better performance in city traffic, auto for better economy. For highway driving at steady speeds it makes no difference, either way you will be in the same gear.

Re: Accleration in the v8 vs v6

The Hemi is generally much quieter for accelerating and passing, the V6 goes from very poor acceleration to a severe downshift accompanied by high RPMs and a great deal of noise in situations where...

Re: 2012 6 Speed feedback request

If I'm interpreting everything correctly:

1) 2011's and 2012's have the same exact useable six gear ratios for manual shifting
2) 2011's and 2012's both only use five gears on the way up when not...

Re: 2012 6 Speed feedback request

That would be very helpful. I'd really like:

- 70 MPH D, 6, 5, 4
- 35 MPH 1, 2, 3

I think we really need to know gearing in all the gears to know what they may have really changed.

Re: 2012 6 Speed feedback request

Re: 2012 6 Speed feedback request

On 2011's if your going fast enough and shift from "D" to "5" you are clearly in different gear, just as you are when you continue to downshift.

Re: Why little to no confirmed info on 2012 6sp auto?

I'm saying that with the old one you absolutely do get an RPM increase and an indicated "5" when downshifting from "D" to "5" at highway speed.

I'm asking if someone that has a 2012 can see if an...

Re: Why little to no confirmed info on 2012 6sp auto?

This is incorrect. I confirmed just last night that I can manually shift through all six gears on my updated 2011. "2" and "3" are very close together, but still manually selectable. I still don't...

Re: Why little to no confirmed info on 2012 6sp auto?

My 2011 with the update has 1-2-3-4-5-D (All Six).

When you downshift from "D" you get an RPM increase and an indication of "5". This is exactly what I would expect to get from a six speed, ...

Re: Why little to no confirmed info on 2012 6sp auto?

I don't think Jeep would choose to maintain different software for each year. If it's mechanically identical to the 2011, I'm confident that the recent TSB makes 2011's identical to 2012's. The...

Re: Why little to no confirmed info on 2012 6sp auto?

If this is true it really makes me wonder if the recent TSB for 5.7's with the 545RFE was really just to put the newly refined "six speed" programming that is in the 2012's into the 2011's. Mine...

Re: How to bring up TSBs at the dealer

That's absolutely unacceptable. The TSB would take five minutes to apply, which is much less time than they would have to spend "reproducing" the problem. I would find yourself a new dealership.

Re: I'm surprised we have no further info on the 2012 6 speed auto

545RFE is awesome with the new TSB. Does not feel one bit like it has any deadspots in need of another gear. High RPM small engines are the main reason for so many gears these days because of their...

Re: After two TSBs today, I now love my Grand Cherokee

The two TSBs this thread is about are 18-035-11 and 18-036-11. They are absolutely both out. I have had them both applied, as have other members.

Re: 5.7 Eco Mode

Actually, if you do a great deal of pure highway driving you will see very little difference in MPG between then V6 and V8. There is a much bigger difference in city stop and go driving.

Re: After two TSBs today, I now love my Grand Cherokee

The handsfree TSB is a major pain in the butt for dealerships. If your still having problems, they either didn't do it, or did it wrong. I would take it somewhere else.
