Re: Oil pressure too high - whooshing sound heard

Easy oil pressure sender check

Turn key to "run" position with engine off.
Does the oil pressure gauge show pressure?
If yes. You're sender is bad.

Re: 2000-2001 owners, chime in...0331 head

Get a 99. Skip the 00-01.

99s have more power and get better mpg. Don't crack heads, have better front diffs.

My second choice 98
3rd 97
Then a 00-01.

If you want to get crazy like...

Re: Jeep grand cherookee overland 2013 power steering noise

Recalls are safety related most times.

The noisy p/s is on all 2011+ models that have the electric system. Not as many of the 11s and 12s where optioned with it.

Re: Jeep grand cherookee overland 2013 power steering noise

If your gc has electric power steering, then it's probably normal. They are a bit noisey

Re: '06 4.7L PCV and EGR Locations?

The little blue piece unscrews from the metal one. You dont have to take the giant metal piece out. The blue part is the valve, the metal is just a housing.

Wether you change the whole thing or...

Re: Unknown rubber hose dangling

Front diff vent hose. There is a white plastic nipple on top of the diff that it should be hooked to.

You need a new pinion seal

Re: 3.7 enough?

Easiest/cheapest would be a complete rear axle assembly and a front diff assembly. Bolt em in with hand tools on your driveway.

Re: 3.7 enough?

X2

I had one. No power. If you do up the tire size, get the diffs from a V8 with 3.73 gears instead of 3.07. That will help a bunch.

Re: are all Wrangler rear ends limited slip?

:banghead:

Track lock is a limited slip, clutch style rear diff.
"no spin" is what jeep calls it.
Available in all models except rubicon.

Also, the 4wd lever MECHANICLY locks the diffs...

Re: upgrades

There is a stroker kit for the 3.8, and a bigger cam available too if you really want to get silly.

Headers, intake, and proper gearing or oversize tires are the best bet

Re: 2012 Jeep Compass performance parts??

Look at Hyundai and mitsubishi for performance parts. They use the same engine for a few years. I'm not sure what's out there. But if there is, that's where to find it.

Re: build 66rfe for jeep

This is all I can remember.

Some 545s will have some of the 68parts in them. Not sure what year that started. 08 would be my guess.

I know there are parts that have to go together. But I...

Re: where's the extra 30 or so HP on the 5.7L?

Correct.

The pickup intake is huge and has a big tuning valve inside. The tuning for this would be different obviously. The cam is different accordingly.

Some years there are up to 6 differnt...

Re: 5.7L Hemi Swap

honestly? it would be cheaper and easier to install a gm LS engine. like a truck 5.3 or 6.0. my buddy has one. cheap and simple. hemi stuff is expensive and a lot of the parts would need fabricated.

Re: 10w30 or 10w40 oil for v8 laredo?

No advantage. I would, and do, use 5/30.

Unless you live in alaska, All the oil specialist stuff between 5w30 and 10w30 doesn't mean squat in real world application. It won't be the difference...

Re: 04 KJ trans issue

That has a 42rle. It sounds like the solenoid pack has an issue. P0846 and P0841 are normally caused by a bad solenoid pack.

545rfe only came in 02' and early 03' gas, and all diesel KJ's

Re: Oil...light on and empty!

That's about normal. Either add oil in between services, change the oil sooner, or go to 5W30.

If you need some elaboration on this I will

Re: 10w30 or 10w40 oil for v8 laredo?

A 2000 with a V8 takes 5W30. 10W30 is also acceptable. NOT 5w20.

Don't put 10W40 either. It will tend to coke up the oil rings.
