Re: New '16 shifter - fit in a '14?

Actually I like the shifter, it's a bit tricky to operate at times but it's working for me most of the times, i wish the rest of the vehicle would be just a bit more like a BMW X5 :-)

Re: 2014 Fuel Lid opens by itself?!

It was open 3 times in a couple days, something not right (either me or this Jeep) ;-)

Re: Phillips 3157 LED Brake/Turn

My Philips LED and resistors (from Xenon Depot) are working just fine for around 5 months now.

2014 Fuel Lid opens by itself?!

Love that ingeniously "engineered" flimsy plastic fuel lid....

Now it opens unintentionally once in a while, maybe I'm not seeing clearly but almost certain that it was open 3 times already...

Re: Phillips 3157 LED Brake/Turn

I can not confirm that. The Philips LED is red, absolutely no complaint when it comes to the colour. When I look at it its red as red can be.

Re: Both paddle shifters only downshifting???

Absolutely fixed it. Took dealer ~2hs to install the paddle.
Mine had an error code stored in memory, dealer hooked up and determined the wrong signal send by paddle.
I couldn't believe it at...

Re: Phillips 3157 LED Brake/Turn

I had to splice at least twice... I'm thinkin the cable should survive, I used some of that black cotton friction tape to protect everything, water runs behind the taillight assembly so that may...

Re: Phillips 3157 LED Brake/Turn

Looks excellent, only from what I see you won't be able to mount the resistor (needs to be mounted behind bumper) Cable not long enough from the looks of it, you could extend the cable though...

Re: Phillips 3157 LED Brake/Turn

Agree, especially when you need to remove them when they fail, then you tap into the OEM wire again to troubleshoot (switch sides)...not ideal at all...

Re: Phillips 3157 LED Brake/Turn

You mean you also had a defective Philips resistor?
If so then probably almost certainly non-automotive standard, simply cheap...

Re: Phillips 3157 LED Brake/Turn

OK. I hate the need for these resistors. While the LED should last a long time (in theory) the resistor will probably fail much sooner due to heat/cold cycles. Aren't they made up of tons of wire...

Re: Phillips 3157 LED Brake/Turn

Interesting, also Philips resistor?
If this happens to me one more time in the near future a strong warning not to use Philips would be in order but we'll need to see....

Re: Phillips 3157 LED Brake/Turn

I'm happy now with the 2nd set of resistors (only needed to replace one) and one replacement bulb. All good now for a week or so, keeping fingers crossed.
I'd recommend buying from XenonDepot...

Re: Both paddle shifters only downshifting???

I'd say you'd immediately know. Either it shifts or you get a message "shift not allowed" in center display. In my case the shift function was completely reversed so easily noticeable...

Re: Both paddle shifters only downshifting???

I'd say not only rpm but torque as well, makes a hell of a difference if you're going downhill without any load on engine or uphill when trying to manually shift, no?

Had mine at the dealer today,...

Re: Both paddle shifters only downshifting???

Nothing to do with gas pedal.
You pull the paddle and the tranny shifts or not (message displays).
Won't shift if rpm or other conditions are not met.
