Re: Brake message

Were you on a curve when this happened? It has happened to me twice, both times at the same location, on a curve where large trees were growing alongside the road. The system saw the trees as a...

Re: Can you get a 2014 Overland w/o wood steering wheel

i like the wood. It looks good, feels comfortable to me and heats up quickly in cold weather. It hasn't faded or cracked and never feels slippery.

not_too_shabby, you should take a test drive and...

Re: Software Updates to the RHR

Even with 2.136 I still have the problem with the default state. Luckily, I don't go out of state that often. Changing the default state is easy to do though.

Re: Paddle shifters, just a novelty or useful tool?

They are mounted on the wheel. For me, they are really not convenient when the wheel is turned. I don't miss them on the Jeep.

Re: 72 hours with '14 Overland

Nice Jeep and great write-up. Looks like you can actually read the center dash info screens. Thanks, and best of luck with it.

Re: Paddle shifters, just a novelty or useful tool?

My wife's Malibu has paddle shifters. The problem with them is that as you make a turn the paddles become impossible to operate until the wheel comes back to the normal driving position. I like the...

Re: Overland does not start. Or misfiring when started

The battery is probably draining due to a short somewhere, which may also be the cause of your no-start problem. I would think your dealer could find something like that.

Re: What are some positive things about the WK2?

I had to chime in on this thread. After 15k miles I still feel that this is the best SUV I've ever owned, and I have had lots of them. If I had to list everything I like about the GC you would all...

Re: Quadr-Lift Reliability

I started with the 7/70 Maxcare warranty but soon realized that I was going to run out the miles before the time, so I bumped it up to 85k. I originally paid only $950. The extra 15k cost $270 more...

Re: Quadr-Lift Reliability

I had the pump and valve replaced due to leakage at 14k. It's fine now, but it could have issues down the road, not to mention all the other technological advances in this vehicle. I bought the...

Re: Stupid question about auto headlamps

I believe you can control the brightness of the NAV screen independently of the dash lights (at least on the RHR radio). Go to Main Menu, then press Options, then Display in the upper right corner....

Re: Early oil change?

Fiction! Newer engines are machined to much closer tolerances than older ones were. There should not be tons of shavings in the oil. Follow the owners manual recommendations.

Re: 3.6L V6 owners: rate your 5-speed transmission please!

I rate it at 4+, only because that 2-3 shift comes to early sometimes if I forget to step down a little harder. The use of Sport mode will prevent that. The ACC works seamlessly with the tranny for...

Re: "Distance to Destination" Question

Is the difference more, or less? Maybe it uses straight line distance for the initial search and road miles for the routing distance. I''ve never taken notice.

"Distance to Destination" Question

When using the 730n navigation the display shows the distance to destination in the upper right corner. Is that the straight line distance or the actual road miles?
