Re: Ext warranty sales pitch

3rd party maintenance contracts are usually problematic, but the dealer makes a higher margin on them. If you search the threads here, you will find lots of complaints about them with our Jeeps. If...

Re: Jeep recalling 1.1 million shifters

I haven't had the recall done yet, but I'm sure the tranny learn cycle will have to start at square one again after it's done. So, be prepared to have a bumpy ride for a while.

Re: Shifter Safety Recall S27 (14/15) Repair PDF - 2.3 Hour Repair Time

This thread is really starting to sound like a broken record. (Sorry to those of you too young to know what that means.)

Re: PSA: You may want to hold off on Uconnect 5/2016 update

I don't have a '16, but on the rare occasion my uconnect acts up, a reboot will settle it right down. Push and hold the buttons on the volume and tuning knobs till it starts to reboot. You can do it...

Re: Shifter Safety Recall S27 (14/15) Repair PDF - 2.3 Hour Repair Time

I've brought this up before. The carwash I use requires me to stay with my GC through the carwash. Also, any other vehicle with this type electronic shifter needs their owner in the vehicle. I don't...

Re: Shifter recal yes or no

Doesn't sound like the update was done. Sounds like your dealer screwed up. Check with the owner connect and NHTSA websites, they should have your vin listed as completing the recall or not.

Re: Shifter recal yes or no

I haven't had the recall done, but my evic says "you are not in park" when I open the door with the vehicle in gear. I believe it's done this since new.

Re: New '16 shifter - fit in a '14?

And you HAVE to look out your windshield to ensure you don't run into someone or something, and lots of people don't do that either. ;)

Re: Shifter confusion --- not just GC 14/15???

Reading between the lines of the tsb, I'd guess the tranny auto shifts into park when the driver door opens after the recall is performed. I'm sure there will be plenty of bitching about that....

Re: My dog ate my wires, HELP!

Wondering how you're making out with the repair? I have to admit, if it were me, I'd have the dealer replace the harness. Too much chance for electrical gremlins. But that's just me, to each his own.

Re: Coolant Flush 2014 WK2 3.6L

Re: Replace Cabin Air Filter --- Just Do It!!!

You're right about no mention of charcoal. What gives it away is the Mopar part number. 68260792AA is the part number for the diesel. It's different from the gas engine filter. Here's the tsb that...

I've never reactivated since my free trial. I've had free promos several times since. The Travel functions seems to work a little better every time, but the sound quality is still too compressed.

Re: Did I get ripped off by the service dept?

HOLY CRAP!!!!! You need to do a little due diligence before you get service. And you need to find a new dealer who isn't a thief. That is just a sad experience. :(
