Re: How To Replace Shifter Belt/Dust Cover.

If you aren't having success in scrapyards, check out ebay or similar. I was able to pick up the entire, brand new shift assembly for a reasonable price, and now I have a spare circuit board (another...

Re: How To Replace Shifter Belt/Dust Cover.

The negative terminal on the battery, so none of the systems are energized.

If disconnecting the battery requires a detailed step-by-step, the rest of the procedure is likely going to be a bit...

Re: 2005 Grand Cherokee Limited digital compass issue

Over on other forums, I've heard of other people having the same issue, but I did not see a solution ever posted.

Not sure what the best next step is. It may very well be the sensor itself, which...

Re: 2005 Grand Cherokee Limited digital compass issue

That indicates your compass is in calibration mode. Usually, if you go into a parking lot and do a circle or two it will re-calibrate and the message should disappear.

If the message keeps...

Re: Interested in a 2005-2010 WK. Help needed

In general, I think both the 4.7 and 5.7 motors are fairly reliable. I (and many others) are approaching or have surpassed the 200,000 mile mark with little more than general maintenance.

That...

Re: 2011 Laredo V-6 towing issue

You'll likely get more specific responses if you post this in the WK2 (2011+) section rather than the WK (2005-2010) section.

In general, towing up steep grades in hot weather will cause...

Re: How to unhook my Security system?

It sounds like you can still drive the vehicle, as you took it back to the dealership, correct?

The post above is spot-on, it is not possible to easily bypass this system. Additionally, if I knew...

Re: 05 LMTD 5.7L Problems

I had similar symptoms at about the same mileage many years ago.

I did plugs, and cleaned throttle body. Both needed to be done, but it did not solve my issue.

I read somewhere about someone...

Re: 05 Wk 5.7 dripping oil on catalytic converter

Looking at the picture, it seems like the original assessment was correct -

The transmission does not have a drain plug, so that must be the oil pan we are looking at - also you can see the...

Re: 2010 GC Laredo and 2009 Limited questions

Have you considered an aftermarket TPM system?

Good ones can be had for under $200 and as cheap as $100.

Usually trying to swap the more advanced systems from the limited to a laredo is a big...

I'd keep trying the scrapyards. Perhaps one of the self-pick...

Depending on where you live, it may be easiest to call around a couple of auto recyclers and have them remove the piece from one on their lot.

Re: 05 gas cap light issue 5.7l 4x4 limited.

It takes a while for the code to reset on its own.

Your gas cap was probably loose, and would have reset on its own...disconnecting the battery just sped the process up a little bit.

I would start by looking at the bushings on the sway bar where it mounts to the frame, as well as the sway bar end link bushings.

Checking the front differential bushings could also be worthwhile.

Also what size/form and rating battery did you put in that you had lying around from your previous vehicle?

Are you sure it is capable of supporting the demands of your jeep?
