Re: Harsh Shifting

You likely are on the pathway for a new transmission. I have zero faith these will hold together past 70k. Have you used your jeep to tow anything significant - 2000# or more?

Re: Harsh Shifting

Well...I am hoping the fix on the Jeep holds - they put a new transmission in it. The symptoms sound the same as everyone else though - rough 1-2, 2-3 shifts when cold, then it seems smooth once it...

Re: Harsh Shifting

I got an update from the Service Manager Thursday afternoon regarding my transmission status. As stated earlier, Chrysler recommended a new valve body, so the service department pulled my existing...

Re: Harsh Shifting

I should add If the Grand Cherokee didn't drive so damn good when it "works", I would have dumped it long ago.

Re: Harsh Shifting

For the folks that commented the shifting is harsh when cold, does everyone have the two speed transfer case? I haven't seen complaints on the Durango forum on vehicles equipped with a V6. They...

Re: Harsh Shifting

Mine has been rough shifting on the 1-2, 2-3, and 5-6 shifts when cold for months. I've had the valve body replaced last August along with numerous code updates since. I took it in again this week...

Re: 2016 Durango

So, it is fact - no diesel in 2016 for the Durango? Was hoping to replace the wife's 2012 with a fuel efficient vehicle that can still tow without fanfare.

Re: "service air suspension" - 2011 Overland

Yes, my 2014 does the same thing. If the temp is below +10F - service air suspension immediately is displayed. Only does it if it is parked all day outside upon startup. Seems strange for a vehicle...

Re: Headrest Bluray system

Thanks Agonzo. That confirms the hemi for us. I have the v6 with the eight speed in a jeep GC, so I know the issues there. It is better now, but it took many trips to the dealer to resolve.

Re: 2015 Durango - Features and Changes

Ernest, I believe the plant was putting in new paint equipment. During the install, they restricted colors down to only White, Black, Gray, and Silver. Should be completed in the next week or so. ...

Thank You. Very helpful. I see you have the Hemi in the Citadel. We are considering the same or the R/T. Not expecting miracles on the fuel economy, but how bad is it around town? We have a V6...

Looking for some feedback from any of you that have the bluray headrest entertainment system in the 2014 or 2015 big D. 1. Do the screens have decent resolution? 2. Where do you store the wireless...

Re: 2014/2015 V6 transmission issue

Update on the fluid smell. Dealer looked at it last week - could not find any leaks or issues. Explained as likely being fluid that spilled on the exhaust during the valve body replacement. I haven't...

Re: If your 8spd trans is rough, put your hand up

I think if you research the users having issues, most have the two speed transfer case. The Durango v6 only has the single speed, like a base level Laredo. My Dad just traded his JGC Overland-2014...

Re: If your 8spd trans is rough, put your hand up

Much better overall. Occasional hard shifts to first when coming to a stop, but otherwise reasonable. It has been 1500 miles since replacement.

Msca, did you already have the valve body replaced? The behavior you describe is exactly how mine behaved prior to valve body replacement.

Re: 2014/2015 V6 transmission issue

However, what I have noticed lately is a strong transmission fluid smell when towing or on longer highway trips. Fluid temps appear normal for the v6 at 195-202. So, on one hand I like the GC, but on...

Re: 2014/2015 V6 transmission issue

The valve body replacement made a night and day improvement. One out ten stops will give the rough downshift to first, otherwise all other shifts are smooth or firm depending on right pedal force....

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission

Re: I Think I Fixed My Rough Shifting 8sp Transmission
