Re: CRD engine chip

Hi Muds

Yes the EGTs are important to monitor on a diesel. I recommend it when fitting a chip for more power.

700 may be ok for short intervals but prolonged high temps would be problematic in...

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Some cars dont like the rail chips as they can upset gear change. That's especially true with cheap Chips from Europe. It's also why we fit our injector style Chips to some vehicles and not others....

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

i have 2 sets of Staun Tyre Deflators set at rock climbing pressure (20psi) and sand pressure (16psi) and this i find makes it easy.

16psi may be a little low for 20" rims but lower pressures on...

Re: Grand Cherokee + sand = FAIL

and if they wait long enough till its out of warranty then the cost to repair is mitigated of course. that's why they hold off. happens all the bloody time.

Re: VM deisel and LPG injection

I knew Eco-Shot a long time back when we were competing for business. Its primitive. There is no tuning over RPM map or custom tuning via boost.

Seems like they haven't changed the system over...

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

I'm just looking at the 3 or 4 SS375 units I have here and they do 3.5 - 4" diameter filters. Most diesels are that size

You also could cable tie or hose clamp the FilterMag to the plastic...

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

however, the oil passing over the magnet on the filter is much more and all oil needs to pass this at some time. The magnetic sump plug has limited flow around it AND is no where near as powerful

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Something else I recommend ... have used many but we don't sell them ... is FilterMags

You simply place the strong magnets onto the outside of the oil filter housing. The ultra strong magnetic...

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Regarding Oil Catch Cans. It is actually not dependant on boost level. It is a problem because of blow by and this oil vapour then mixing with EGR and cooking / baking onto the inlet tract. The...

Thanks for that.

Yes the Piggy Back option is the easy first steps. We just needed to provide the OEM plugs to both the Fuel Rail and MAP sensors.

Going in through the EOM...

Re: Anyone tuned a CRD yet?

Re: CRD engine chip

Tuning a petrol enginee is quite different to tuning a diesel. If you get the AFRs wrong (lean) in a petrol engine the thing hand-grenades. In a diesel if you lean it out you just loose power. ...

The manufacturers don't fit Oil Catch Cans because they try to...
