Re: Owned the Overland 1 year now

Well this is my 2nd JGC, owned the original 1993 ZJ Limited when that came out. I'm loving the vehicle so far and for the price it's very well equipped compared to it's German sister in the garage. ...

Re: How much are you paying at the pump to fill up?

$90....because the pump cuts you off at $90 :(. 87 Oct is about $4.30 here. Funny thing is, I been filling my car up with 100 Oct race gas lately, it's only a little more than the 91, funny how...

Re: Purchase from one dealer, service from another.

I do it all the time. It's like going to a doctor, sometimes you just want a second opinion or build a better relationship with someone else. Jeep is Jeep, they company is still making profits...

Re: With all the talk about what an CAI or Cat back can do for horsepower...

Haha that was a great find. Sad thing is, there will be some dumbasses who see this and think it's true. "That Type R emblem really did it!"

Re: Summit - too much chrome?

I'm not a huge fan of my 18" polished trail rated wheels, they are too bling for me. Shiny wheels should be left on Caddys and Buicks. They should have made some gunmetal rims for the 18" trail...

Re: For all owners wk2

That's why I have a dedicated track car used in safe environments. The OP may live in Eurpoe where he has access to the autobahn, even in that case I wouldn't think about going above 85. She's a...

Re: For all owners wk2

I think there is a speed governor set to 120 mph. I know the tires are only rated at 105 mph on the trail rated version (20" have V rated). So no, I don't think it's possible that person is driving...

Re: For all owners wk2

As long as my flux capacitor is fueled....I like to hit 88 mph before I see some serious sh!t. I'm not sure about your questions, are you asking for a safe speed limit?

Re: DVD's in, Chrome strip off!

Do a quick google search for shadowline trim. Basically vinyl wraps your chrome window molding black (or any color you want). I have it done on my other cars, it looks fantastic. Here's just one...

Re: Limited vs Overland

You did not just compare a BMW's suspension to a Jeep and Kia :banghead: I love the Jeep's air ride, however, I prefer the BMW's tight and precise handling (it's why we buy them). That being said,...

Re: Mopar CAI.

Is the bottom of the box sealed off, or can it suck in some cooler air from underneath? Would seem restrictive if just the small opening at the top is the only air inlet source (OEM like).

Re: How to negotiate

First off, disregard the MSRP price (who knows what mark-ups are on there). Ask to see the Invoice price and negotaiate off of that. Start with just offering Invoice but don't let them drive you...

Re: reasonable weight to tow with 3.6 pentastar.

I would 100% agree. I havn't seen many V6 vehicles tow much more than 3500 lbs, especially not 5,000 lbs. The new 8 speed tranny for the 2013 might be better off, however, I would play it safe if...

Re: reasonable weight to tow with 3.6 pentastar.

The limit is not because of strain on the motor.....it's your transmission you are worried about. I've seen several vehicles blow out trannies early because they tried towing close to their max...

Re: Something to laugh at

Don't mock me, but I did cross-shop the Escape before purchasing my WK2. The Escaped felt like it had a labotomy, completely lacked any sort of personality, uninspired, and was dull (to say the...

Re: Weak seat heaters/coolers?

I agree with most others, as this is the one thing with my WK2 that I am rather dissapointed with. The heat/vent. is adequate at best. When compared with my MB or BMW, they are downright...

Re: aFe Power 5.7L CAI

You mean overpriced (they all are) :p hopefully there's no such thing as a Jeep tax. I owned their dual cone intake for a while. Looking forward to it aFe, can't wait to see some numbers.

Re: Break in?

Drive it like you intend on driving it for it's lifespan. Do you think people drive them like grannies on test-drives off the lot? It is probably a good idea to vary speeds though. If you go WOT...

Re: How fast do you drive on washboarded roads?

My buddy flipped a Ford Ranger after losing control on a washboard road. He was doing about 35-40, fishtailed, then went off the side of the road and rolled into the drainage ditch. I was young at...

Re: Burning smell 5.7Hemi

Bah no need. Even some service manuals says no break-in required. How about all those vehicles on the lot that are driven fairly roughly on test drives? I say, drive it the way you intend to drive...

Re: Adding Acetone to increase MPG

Get a Methanol/Water injection system and run the nozzels to the intake manifold. I used to run an Aquamist HFS-3 on my BMW with x4 1.0mm jets. It greatly increased power (octane bump to run more...
