Re: Air Suspension on the Overland...

Last time I replaced the rear air shocks on my Denali they were 350 per shock and 400 for a new compressor. Its a much less sophisticated suspension than whats in our Overland and my E class, so I...

Re: Coil suspension vs Air

Wish they would give you the option for coils on a new Overland. I would like to run larger tires than is possible with the air suspension. Air is fine for a street truck however.

Re: Off road ability with 20" wheels without selec-terrain

Selec-Terrain doesnt do anything that driver skill wont...Your setup would be fine for mild dirt or gravel trails but anything more serious would require a smaller wheel with more tire sidewall, and...

Re: Could you see this wheel with off road tires.

Might look odd with aggressive tread on those dainty spokes. But I also think 20s in general look weird with offroad tires unless theyre like 37s or 40s. Id stick with street tires if youre gonna...

Re: Tahoe vs Jeep Grand Cherokee

They roll down further than my Yukons but not all the way...maybe like 3/4s.

Its because the wheel arches protrude into the doors, there simply isn't space for the window to fit all the way in.

Re: Tahoe vs Jeep Grand Cherokee

Tahoes have the column shifter because they are based on the Silverado and all regular cab silverados and well as the lower trim levels don't have a center console to put a shifter in. Lower trim...

Re: Overland Summit Real Wood Or Not?

Easy mistake to make, especially in a Range Rover because the way the end pieces and "spears" on either side on the center console are shaped...its quite convincing.

Re: Diesel Grand Cherokee Coming to US!

The old Merc diesel was a fairly expensive option and the fuel economy gains werent enough to make up for it. I think at 06 prices the break even point was around 100k miles.

Diesels also have a...

Re: Wrangler 17" and 18" wheels?

Re: Diesel Grand Cherokee Coming to US!

VW has had lots of success as well with its TDI models. In the HD pickup market diesels are very popular, and with good reason. Also Chevy is set to unveil a diesel engine for its smaller cars soon.

All diesels have cold weather issues, but thats what glow plugs are for, as well as engine block heaters.

VM Motori. I dont believe chrysler makes any diesels as their heavy truck engines are from Cummins.

Re: Diesel Grand Cherokee Coming to US!

The old GM diesels didn't help matters much either. Even if cost/benefit is a wash versus the gasser the ability to go further between fill ups makes it worthwhile. I could see the GC becoming a...
