I figured my Australian MY14 Overland has one, as the alarm goes offer after about 4 pumps of the trolley jack...

Upper cylinder lubes were to combat wear associated with the removal of lead from fuel. Diesel is already lubricious.

The pictures I've seen are from a range of relatively current vehicles...

FWIW, I try to avoid rocking the plug out side to side. I have a suspicion that's why the outside/indicator pins are generally the most troublesome.

Bad earth? Check if the brake light performance is reduced when the park lights are on... and that both filaments in the combination globe are lighting up. (ie: both brake and tail)
