Only off road adventure package I or II come with skid plates. It adds a lot of weight for most people who never would have any need of them.

I like having them for road debris and and mishaps....

You will be fine down there. I did it with a fully loaded 3500 suburban. It has a few 1ft deep puddles but that is only after it rains. The rest is mostly rolling sandy trails and a few obstacles....

I think the 300 was for the plates, badges, and hooks. I think the hitch and wires were like 200. Sorry didn't Clarify that. Plus I bought and wrapped it into the deal buying the jeep.

I got them almost at cost and I think it was around $300 for plates, 2 badges, and all 4 tow hooks. I also added a trailer hitch and wiring harness too.
