Re: Overland w/ Advanced Tech Diesel vs V8

The ecodiesel has some minor disadvantages, but for me it boils down to one big disadvantage: no lifetime maxcare available. I want to keep it for 20+ years, and this one thing could mean a...

Re: Advanced tech package

Advanced tech package on a Limited would be tempting to me if it were not necessary to also get luxury package. But I don't want lux, and $5K to get tech is way too much.

Re: Quadra Track Operation

The mfr can't foresee every unusual situation of every driver. They just make it work in a way that they think will accommodate the large majority. If the ride over that early speed bump is so...

Re: Lifetime extended warranties, do they make sense?

Too bad it doesn't cover hail damage. Around here that would be worth at least two or three insurance deductibles.

Re: Lifetime extended warranties, do they make sense?

I agree with canistel, it's probably the misfire. The long thread about tranny issues were with the 8 speed that came with the 3.6L, so your 2012 5.7 is not subject to those issues.

Re: Being tempted by a Rubicon...need advice

I also feel the siren song of the Rubicon. But I keep reminding myself that all the trails I'd drive with it are 700 to 1000+ miles away, and I would be better off getting there in comfort (WK2). ...

Re: Tow Hitch

Oops, you're right. I googled it and the recall was for '93 to '98 models. I'd just read about the recall last year and didn't notice the model years affected. Assumed it was more current.

Re: EVIC - "Battery Low Start Engine to Change Ride Height"

A freshly charged battery will likely show 12.8V or even higher. 12.2V is about 50% charge, so if your meter reads something like 12.2 or 12.3 the battery is probably bad.

One of my meters plugs...
