Door card cracking

You know that spot you rest your elbow on the door card behind the window switches etc ?
The elbow impact point is now splitting the covering vinyl. Sort of 2 inches square area.

Well I dont have a gauge like that to use. Like I say, I set the shoes so I could just slide the rotor back on, so assume there is no drag at that point.
I'll give it a road test on a hill and see...

Sorry, should say they are working (as we speak, the jeep is still on axle stands) but I want to set them up correctly so the don't drag while I'm driving but bite hard when I pull up the park brake...

Over here in the UK the off road BILSTEIN B6 shock is being hailed as the best shock on the market for our WJ's (mines stock height)

But they are expensive, so what am I getting for my money up...

New tie rod ends fitted !

Just replaced the 4 tie rod ends on my WJ with moog parts, including a new moog tie rod bar. Put an extra shot of grease on them also on assembly, then off to get the alignment done.

Shocks - working life ?

Maybe not possible to say...but what would be the expected life of a set of original shocks ?
My WJ is a 2004 with 75,000 mile's, mostly road use.
What Im thinking is the shocks may still "appear"...

But it will blow chilled air till the outside temp gets very hot. It's just been regased, but I don't think they give a good service, couldn't tell me how much gas they put in. The machine does it...

My 2004 Overland has factory 17 inch wheels. According to what Im reading on the WJJeeps.com, those wheels have a 7.5 rim width.
Can anyone confirm Ive read that correctly ?

You have to take the cover plate off to drain the oil out.
Is there meant to be a gasket on the cover plate ?

Some guys in the UK say they just use liquid sealant to seal it back on with and...
