Re: Rear Shock Bolt Question

I got the shocks changed out today. It only took 1 hour to change both front shocks. The impact made it a breeze to remove the top bolt and snap both the bottom ones in half (because the nuts were...

Rear Shock Bolt Question

The top bushing on my front driver's side shock has worn out to the point I can move the top of the shock back and forth by hand. No place local sells replacement bushings and the Jeep has 166k miles...

Re: Rust...advice?

A lot of that looks like fairly severe surface rust. How to stop rust is very simple in statement, remove it and cover the exposed bare metal with something (usually paint). When it's surface rust...

Re: Steering wheel cocked left

Agreed, it's an easy process. When I did mine I drove the Jeep straight into the garage (wheels straight, steering wheel turned). Then I loosened the clamps and turned the key into the 'on' position...

Re: rear suspension noise.

I wish I could give you a solution if it's your problem but I've just learned to ignore it because I cannot locate the problem.

Re: rear suspension noise.

See if when you lightly pull the parking brake if that causes the noise to stop. My Jeep has been making a clunking noise for years and I cannot find it. I've replaced the rear ball joint and both...

Re: 2002 Laredo

When I got my Jeep it made a similar sound. It wasn't until I had someone else drive it while I climbed around with my head out the window that I figured out it was actually coming from the front...

Re: engine swap

If you don't know the condition of the crank position sensor, I would replace it with a new Mopar sensor (~$100). With the engine/tranny out of the vehicle, it's an incredibly simple change. With the...

Re: 4.7 HO, recommended oil weight?

The difference between 5W30 and 10W30 is pretty insignificant. Some people will say that you should go with the thinnest winter weight you can find because it allows more oil to flow on start up...

Re: Water Leak - Pass Side

A water leak or antifreeze leak? If it's water, the first place I would look is the AC condensation drain.

Re: Loosing its cool

Welcome to the club. I've had my Jeep since about 75k miles and have yet to drive more than 12k miles (that's only 6 months for me) w/out something breaking. It's the most unreliable vehicle I've...

Re: Starting "Issue"

The battery did test bad on the tester so a new one was necessary. Since I wasn't home and install was free I had them do it and they cleaned the terminals. Everything seems to be operating normally...

Re: Click or slight clank in rear end 04 GC LE 8 cyl (not HO)

I would start by checking fluid levels of the rear differential and the transfer case. After that, I would check CV and U joints and rear upper ball joint.

I think fluctuate might have been a poor choice of words on my part. It appears the resolution of the measurement is in 0.4% increments. So 95% of the time it will measure 11% and for a second it...

Ok, that's good information to know and I'll put that in memory. Since it did hold pressure, I'm going to rule both of those out.

Re: 04 Grand Cherokee 6cyl. oil pan replacement

Re: 04 Grand Cherokee 6cyl. oil pan replacement

Re: What are you doing to your WJ next?

Ouch, I bet that's costing a pretty penny. I only have 1 starting key. I had one cut at Lowes for a couple bucks. It will open the doors but won't start the Jeep (unless I use the remote starter)....

I don't think you can just jumper the sensor. The Jeep is looking for a pulse to tell it the location of the crank and cam. If you jumper it, then the sensor is telling the Jeep that the crank/cam is...
