Re: 3.7 Mufflers, whose got'em?

I would check out the hooker Aerochamber line of mufflers. They sounded great on the 3.4 V6 I had in my 94 Firebird. They are a great hybrid between the straight through muffler like a magnaflow or...

Re: flowmaster Delta 50 on 4.7L WK

I think the FMs sound good(if you are into LOUD) on most V8s. I know the FM 40 delta flow with a 3" inlet and dual 2.5" outlets sounded fantastic on my 96 Ram with a 5.2 and sounded even better with...

Re: flowmaster Delta 50 on 4.7L WK

I honest feel that the straight thru mufflers sound better on the smaller engines. The 4.0 has an odd exhaust note as it is and I find that the FM line of muffler just sounds weird. I love the Borla...

Re: Subtle sounding exhaust options?

I would say Borla, much like other companies, depends on the application and the type of system you purchase. Also consider our definations of obnoxious may in fact be very different. I once had a...

Re: Subtle sounding exhaust options?

The borla stuff does sound great and I would describe it as a gentlemens exhaust. It has a very refined sound to it. Agressive but not obnoxious and well built.

Re: Aluminum 4.0L Cylinder Heads

Oh I agree Ryan. But you would spend far more modding a 4.0 to 15 second 1/4 glory than modding a 4.7 in any form. At the end of the day the thing is a jeep and was never intended to burn up the...

Re: Subtle sounding exhaust options?

I think a larger case Borla or Dynomax ultraflo is what is in order here. Try to find a performance muffler that is as close to the case size fo the OEM muffler and I think you will be happy so long...

Re: flowmaster Delta 50 on 4.7L WK

Jeepnjeep You can can make the offset in center out work. You just need to make sure the case of the muffler has enough room and won't hit stuff like the frame rails. The location of the outlet will...

Re: flowmaster Delta 50 on 4.7L WK

I love my Borla is all I can say. Mine is on a 4.0L granted but it is what I would calla gentlemens exhaust. Loud when you want it to be and moderate at most cruising speeds.

If the Borla is to...

Re: flowmaster Delta 50 on 4.7L WK

In my exprience all flowmasters drone. I always suggest the hooker aerochamber to anyone who wants the sound of a chambered muffler and the performance of a straight through muffler without any real...

Re: Aluminum 4.0L Cylinder Heads

It seems to me that there are a ton of aftermarket speed parts including superchargers and turbo kits for the 4.7 in any form than what is available for the 4.0 I6. It also seems its easier to mod...

Re: Aluminum 4.0L Cylinder Heads

I am in the process of beefing up my 4.0 in my 04WJ but if you are looking to make big power numbers the best way historicaly is cubes. Get a bigger motor. From what I understand it seems there are a...

Re: 6.1L Swap - Need Some Help!

Not to be the party pooper here but there are a few other things other than the engine and possible tranny swap to consider. You have now just added a MUCH heavier, albeit, powerful engine. I know...
