Re: ejschultz Build Log

On my last wheeling trip, my e-fan decided to die on me. That's the third time I've had issues with it since I've installed it. The Hayden fan controller died in traffic on the highway one time...

Re: ejschultz Build Log

Even though I'm pretty against tinted tail lights, I got sick of looking at my ZJ with colored lights. Everything else is monochrome on it. I gave it a shot.

Re: ejschultz Build Log

I finally finished my e-fan today. It took a week of working on it for short periods of time at night. The box in the pic has the fan controller for low and the 70 amp relay for the high speed. I...

Re: ejschultz Build Log

I got around to installing my JCR stage 3 sliders today. I used one of the breaker carts we have at work to get them installed. I think the total install time was roughly 2 hours. I don't think that...

Re: ejschultz Build Log

Oh, I also put reinstalled my front bumper cover and fog lights. I was tired of looking at it without it. I'm definitely a fan of having it on . I will, however, remove it when I go wheeling. Even...

Re: ejschultz Build Log

Okay, I have a couple of updates. First, I replaced my windshield. Apparently (and hopefully) it fixed a leak that has plagued my ZJ since I've owned it (the PO complained about it too). I don't have...

Re: ejschultz Build Log

I recently removed the bumper cover, trimmed the fender liners, removed the fog lights, and painted the factory bumper that's under the bumper cover. It looked like crap after I pulled off the cover....

Re: ejschultz Build Log

I had a pretty busy day with the ZJ yesterday. I, with the help of a fellow NWIJ member, swapped my 249 for my 242 finally, cut my rear DS to fit properly, swapped my rear progressive coils for...

Re: 3.5'' iron rock lift

I've got some vibes up around 45 mph. Any faster or slower and I'm smooth. My rear pinion angle is slightly off, but that's nothing my adjustable upper rear arms can't fix, whenever I get the time to...

Re: 3.5'' iron rock lift

I don't think they have enough travel. They're currently the limiting factor in my suspension's travel. I should have opted for the Doesch Tech DT8000s that Iron Rock Off Road offers. It would have...

Looks good. What shocks did you go with (I'm regretting my Nitro 9000s; I probably should have went with the 8000s or the DT8000s)? I have the Benchmark lift from them with lots of upgrades (see my...

Re: ejschultz Build Log

I'm right at 4" of lift. I think the wheels make them look a little bigger. Duratracs measure at 30.5" according to Goodyears specs.

Re: ejschultz Build Log

Putting in my 242 is definitely my next "mod" on the ZJ. I planned on getting some new wheels (15s) and tires once that's done. I jumped the gun and got a set of 5 US Wheels Stealth Crawlers. They're...

Re: 3.5'' iron rock lift

It's all about keeping the pinion angles correct. If you keep running the stock arms, the pinion angle will be dead on. It will change if you change the arms. You're best off with adjustable arms to...

Re: The official Wheel thread

I love my ZJ. It's not the nicest ride at a little over 4" on short arms, but it's pretty nice inside and it's fairly capable. I just want to pick up something new in 6 mouths to a year.

Re: The official Wheel thread

I'm not gonna lie... I've been seriously contemplating a JKU and that makes me want a WK2. Nice job with the wheel choice. How much lift is on that?

Re: ejschultz Build Log

Yeah, I thought about 265/75/16, but they're going to be a little out of my price range. I also don't know how well they'll work with a 7" wide rim. 7" is the minimum width for one. The 235/85/16 is...

Re: ejschultz Build Log

I'm stuck between getting some 245/75/16 which measure the same in diameter as most 31s or some 235/85/16 which measure the same as most 32s. I'm thinking the 31s would be a better fit but I'm pretty...
