Re: Jeep service costs

So is everyone having their "oil drain bolt" replaced every service at an initial cost of $14.50 plus GST and for my service today a staggering $33.29 plus GST. Who ever heard of replacing the sump...

Re: Servicing under warranty

At this stage I intend to keep using dealers for service to ensure I get all the numerous software updates that keep coming through. Once that settles I'll be considering other options.

Re: Is DPF issue for 2014 CRD fixed now?

I watched my oil temp on a recent trip when it was warm (30ish ambient) and 105-110 was quite common, particularly when climbing a bit. I believe oil temp will typically be 10-15 degrees higher than...

Re: CRD oil on special

You could add in

Castrol Edge 5W30 FST - ACEA C3, MB 229.31/229.51

This is what you get if you do a search on the Castrol site for the right oil for a 13/14 JGC Diesel. Can be bought on...

I have a little "tinkley" type noise from the front of the dash at around 100. I suspect it may come from one of the tin heat shields at the back of the engine bay. Not bad but there.

The oil filter referred to by Dutch as supposed to be right for the diesel, 68191349AA is available from Mopar in the US very cheaply? Would using a Mopar filter be appropriate under warranty?

I wouldn't put much on the colour of the oil, most modern diesels seem to turn the oil very black very quickly after a change.

Re: Autocar's blah review of the GC CRD

For the rest read only the Discovery as none of the others are any good off road (Touareg, Benz, BMW, Audi). Most don't even have a useable spare tyre, a big issue here in Australia.
