Re: Overland Custom Grille- don't try this at home

Thank you. I appreciate the feedback guys. I think the paint will hold up OK. Living in Texas, we have mostly hot, dry weather. The grille insert is ABS plastic, and Duplicolor paint has a...

Re: Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) sets off Radar Detectors

I was thinking the same thing, that it could be modified to effectively mask your speed at least for a few seconds, by sending out it's own signal which would interfere with the RADAR gun.

When the ECO display comes on, is this when the engine management program cuts off fuel supply to 4 cylinders in an effort to improve fuel economy?

Thanks

wondering if anyone knows whether or not the ACC system sets off the radar detector in another vehicle? Has anyone tested this?

my gut feeling is that it does, since it must send out a radar...

Re: Can't get LED Stop Light to work

I cannot get this to work. I tried a 3 ohm, a 6 ohm and both 3+6 ohm resistors.

Re: Can't get LED Stop Light to work

I'm going to try switching the resistors from 6 ohm/50 watt, to 3 ohm/50 watt and see if that helps. It's the only thing I can think of, unless the Automatic Headlights are causing the problem.

Re: Mile Indicator When Fuel Low

Actually it's better to keep the gas tank above 1/2 to full because gasoline evaporates on contact with air, and the more air in the tank the faster it will evaporate, so by keeping it full, you are...

Guess you decided to ignore the normal break-in procedure for a new engine?
You're suppose to be driving it gently for the first 500 miles..

Re: Blind Spot Caused by Drivers Side Mirror

Raising the seat seems to help a lot. Even just one inch gives better visibility in the turn. I also noticed most SUV's have large mirrors. Guess I'm just not used to it.

Re: Blind Spot Caused by Drivers Side Mirror

There IS a blind-spot there, more caused by the size of the mirror than the A-pillar. I've noticed it a few times now.

A lift kit with some 35's would help.
