Re: Would you make the dealer replace the seat?

GoHerd,

I had this exact problem in my 2012 Summit. You can somewhat easily unclip the leather cover from underneath the front and both sides of the seat, and partially roll back the leather to...

Re: High pitched whistle sound from heating blower fan

I had a similar noise just the other day; a high-pitched whistle when the blower was on high. After nearly pulling my hair out, I tried raising all 4 windows.

Turns out that my wife had...

Re: Wash Brush

Boar's hair is a great way to go! Just make sure that there are no synthetic bristles in the brush. Those that you have linked to appear to be of excellent quality.

There's nothing wrong with a...

Re: Summit steering wheel

My Summit arrived at my dealership last night, and this morning my salesman called and let me know my steering wheel is the correct (dark wood) one. My Jeep was built on 9/20, and I think Echo22 had...

Re: Out with the old, in with the new

Thanks for the info, Echo22. My Mineral Gray Summit build date was 9/20, around 5 days after yours was built. Hopefully my Summit will have the correct steering wheel, too!

Your new GC looks...

Re: Sit-Rep.. 2012 Summit Steering Wheels

Thanks for the info, BigAl. How long did it take the dealer to change the wheel? Are you completely happy with the (re)install, and does the steering wheel nicely match the rest of the wood trim?

Re: Wheel lug torque

My 2nd edition owner's manual also shows 95 ft. lbs., but the 5th edition owner's manual from WK2Jeeps.com indicates 110 ft. lbs.

Obviously has been recently updated ...

Re: Sit-Rep.. 2012 Summit Steering Wheels

My current '11 Overland Hemi does have ELSD, and in order to retain that feature on the '12 model, I have to order the Summit edition. (I don't want to order the ORA package because I want the 20"...

Re: Can't have 4 screws for rear license plate??? Huh?

That area is definitely NOT plastic, it's sheet metal! I wouldn't be drilling any extra holes in that location. If possible, just go to your DMV or equivalent and get shiny new replacement plates for...

Re: Sit-Rep.. 2012 Summit Steering Wheels

I'm getting a little worried, guys!

I currently have a '11 Overland Hemi, and have ordered a '12 Summit Hemi (partially so that I could get the rear ELSD). My Jeep is supposedly scheduled to be...

Re: 9/7 incentives?

This snippet intrigues me; can you explain a bit more about this system and how/where you're able to track a certain vehicle? Thanks in advance!

Re: Tailgate, can the beeping be disabled?

I used to use a bit of hand pressure to stop the automatic movement of the liftgate, too. But last time I waxed, I found by accident that the liftgate will stop immediately if you pull again on the...

Re: Wrong Radio in Vehicle

Technosavant, can you elaborate on the upcoming fix? I'm curious if this is a Chrysler or Sirius problem, and when the fix might be introduced, and by whom?

Thanks,
Mike

Re: Auto Door Locks

You're correct, IF you happen to be on the inside. If you pull up to a curb to pick up a passenger (my wife at her workplace, for example), you need to hit the unlock button before she can open the...

Re: Day and Night Display Setting for 430

Check your dimmer control to make sure it isn't set on "Parade" mode.

From the owner's manual:

When a door is open and the interior lights are on, rotating the dimmer control all the way down,...

Re: Check your lug nuts!

I would trust the specs in the owner's manual more than what is printed on the wheel lock packaging. If you want further confirmation, check with your dealer or order a service manual.

Re: Check your lug nuts!

According to the printed owner's manual (page 475): 95 ft lbs (130 Nm). The nut size is 7/8".
