Re: ECO Mode

It all boils down to driving style - the way I see most people take off from stop lights, ECO or any other gas savings mode won't do any good. Obviously, the ECO programming was created to help the...

Re: Do custom orders normally take this long?

It depends on how badly you want EXACTLY what you ordered. I order all of my vehicles because the dealers never have them configured exactly the way I want them, and as expensive as all vehicles are...

Re: CAI - Does it help??

I have the K&N on mine - really sounds great under acceration, but no noticeable gains in power or gas mileage.

Re: Do custom orders normally take this long?

All three of my vehicles were ordered and took exactly 6 weeks. As a premium member, you can ask Milhous to provide much more detailed and accurate tracking of your order.

Re: Pennzoil Ultra Platinum

When I did the first oil change (switching to full synthetic at 1000 miles) I followed the manual and put in 7 qts. The dipstick read low. I called my local auto repair shop owner (who is a big Mopar...

Re: Traded my 2014 GC

Glad you made the trade up - I think you'll find the V8 isn't too far below the V6 in gas mileage either.

Is the 8HP70 now being built in the U.S.? My Sept. '13 build was manufactured in Germany.

Re: Oil Change Intervals on the 3.6?

I would run from that dealership. The 3,000 mile oil change is extra money in their pockets. Only if the oil monitor counted down to near zero (under severe conditions) would I change it at only...

Re: Possible Warranty Telemarketing Scam

I get these bogus calls occasionally. Most don't even know what kind of vehicle you own. I simply tell them I'm interested in a warranty on a 1976 Starsky &Hutch edition Ford Torino with a slipping...

Re: GC powers off in 30 minutes - PITA

When I've done updates that have taken longer than 30 mins., I've simply left the ignition in the run position with a Battery Tender hooked up - no problems.

Re: Oil Change Intervals on the 3.6?

Switched to full synthetic at 1000 miles in all my vehicles and then follow the oil life monitor or 1 year. According to Chrysler and GM, no special additives are added to the oil prior to shipment...

Re: 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited lift gate won't latch closed

Thankfully that sounds like a relatively simple issue with the latching mechanism or an adjustment of the latch itself. Good luck with it!

That's why as long as mine is running perfectly (as it has from day one), no dealer is going to touch it! Sorry to hear of those issues.

Re: Overland or Summit??

Engine choice is highly subjective as there are MANY threads on this. They're all good choices depending on what you intend to use the vehicle for. The V6 transmission has had more issues than the...

The button with the circular arrow surrounding the X2 is the remote start which can be "pocket started" under certain conditions. Doesn't yours have this button?

Re: Reset 'oil change required' message

The reset procedure can be tricky. I've found that it's very sensitive to how fast or slowly you depress the pedal all the way to the floor and how soon you finish the procedure by pressing the start...

Re: Anyone try an 8HP70 trans swap into pre-2013 WK2?

That's interesting - far more complaints about the 8speed in the V6 (which is manufactured by Chrysler) than the German built ZF unit in the V8 and diesel.

Re: Harsh Shifting

The V6's transmission is a ZF unit manufactured by Chrysler, while the diesel and V8 unit is built in Germany by ZF. It's been suggested that this could be one reason why the V6 unit has more issues....

Re: Project Frankenstein: Dropping a 6.4L in my 2011 Overland (5.7L) - Anyone Done It

Yes, if any tuning is done, be sure you're covered. Usually if the factory tune is unlocked, the power train warranty is over.

Re: sunroof or no sunroof???

No sunroofs on any of my vehicles - had to special order them (except the Z06) that way. Had them on prior vehicles and never used them and don't like the extra weight so high on the vehicle.

Re: How fast do you think your Hemi is?

Also, the gearing in the V8 is much taller (for fuel economy benefits) than the V6. With the same gearing, the difference would be more. I think both drive trains are pretty well designed.

Re: How fast do you think your Hemi is?

The GC's Hemi is not a drag racer, nor is it intended to be. It's reasonably quick considering its weight, but the tall rear end ratio (as compared to the SRT's higher ratio, for example) is designed...
