Just the opposite,switch is NC at less than 7 psi. Grounding the purple wire will send gage to zero.

Or REMOVE the wire from the sending unit and the gage will read normal or a little more than half way!

I'm not sure about '06 but the '04 does not have a gage. The gage is just for looks and stays in the middle unless your pressure drops to about 4-7 psi and the gage will read ZERO.

Wow, I have the same problem. It was like this when I bought the Jeep six months ago.....I finally said to heck with it and just drive it. However mine does come up to about 20 psi at cruising...

2004 Cherokee with 4.0, number on block is 009MX27. Should't it be something like 40*MX** ?? The motor appears to have had a new cylinder head installed recently
