Re: AC Compressor Does't start WJ 02

That is definitely one of the AC pressure switches. I don't know the WJ so I don't know which one.

You'll need to replace it. Not knowing the WJ, I don't know if you have to drain the AC system...

Re: Power consumption when vehicle is off

Hm, just did a little digging around and apparently there is no longer an IOD fuse.. I guess too many things need keepalive power these days..

Re: Power consumption when vehicle is off

You can always pull the IOD fuse.. You may lose some presets if you do, but the vehicle should be fine sitting for months with the fuse out..

Re: Power consumption when vehicle is off

I had so-so experiences with Optimas on my Gen-I Durango, but YMMV.

The '14 FSM says the long-term ignition-off draw should be <= 0.04A .. using very rough figures, a 1A tender should take 1-2...

Re: A/C will not turn off

I'm not an AC dude, but I don't see how they can tell that there was 0.55kg of refrigerant in the system.

I'm also surprised that they will fill an undercharged system without doing a leak test.....

Re: I can only imagine how much this will cost.

I can see how this could happen.

"white" LEDs aren't really White LEDs.

They are violet or UV LEDs, which excite a phosphor that emits the "white" light (this is similar to how 'old school'...

Re: 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee REFRESH

Been there, done that..

In the Durango/Aspen, MY2009.

I rode in one at the Newark plant (just as the closing of the plant was announced), and a bunch were used in Taxi service in San Francisco.

Re: Extremely Pissed. Traction/stability control in snow.

IIRC Sand and Mud modes partially disable it. But that's all you can do.

The reason it can be disabled in my '07 WK is NOT so that I can go slipping and sliding around; it is for off-road...

Very common on the (5)45RFE. Tech doesn't properly install the seal in the valve body bore (NOT on the filter neck); transmission sucks air and...

Re: Where do yall stand on this?

Good air impacts, and a set of good, tight-fitting impact sockets. And a decent (not necessarily awesome) compressor.

Re: 08 5.7 Engine Shutting off while driving

Does the 08 have a traditional ignition switch, or is it a fobik thingy?

07 and earlier WK ignition switches are prone to failure, but ISTR that system changed somewhere after 07..

Re: Why $1000 extra for brushed trim in the California edition.

They do it because they can.
For some folks it is well worth it, for others it isn't. To each his own.

I suppose "California Edition" has somewhat more marketing cachet than, say, "Ohio Edition"...
