Re: How restrictive is the traction control?

I have QT1, but I dont think there are differences in TCS function....Realizing that it can be manually turned off, I still do not like the TCS function when proceeding from a stop. I live in the...

Re: Front end trailer hitch

Try Bodiak Hitches and Accessories (http://www.bodiak.us/) I bought one there for a Ford Expy several years ago. Great for being able to mount carriers, bike racks, etc while still towing.

Re: Why do 4x4 Jeeps have no option for part time 2wd?

I had a 99 WJ. That was the Grand Ch. right? It had select trac and it was a beast. 2WD most blacktop time, No Traction control to kill power and try to kill me at intersections, and lo range i...

Re: Why do people buy 4x2 Jeeps?

Having learned to drive in 60s-70s era rear wheel drive sedans in snow country. I think people put too much emphasis on AWD or 4WD to allow them to get along in bad weather. Not disputing off road...

Re: If you could do it over again?

I live in the snow belt....I rarely consider clean outside of July and August. The other 10months it looks "slightly off clean"

Re: Snow. How deep?

QT1 is very good in the snow, but what you experienced is full time split front to rear, roughly 50x50. There is no variability like in many AWD systems. I had a Kia AWD that was like 80x20 until...

Re: tips on how to keep a black jeep clean?

Always park next to a dirtier one. I worried at first, but now the dirt makes it look "loved"

Re: Laredo Prewired for Keyless Go?

Modern manufacturing makes many upgrades plug and play. The margins on upgraded trim levels is huge. So you can add many features cheaper than buying new. If I might ask, What did it cost to add...

Re: Quadra Trac 1 situation/capabilities

QT1 always splits 50/50 ish front to back. Regardless of slip. Left side right side will vary based slip and brakes will be applied to compensate.
QT1 is always "locked" 4 wheel, not AWD. AWD has...

Re: Added a tow hitch at dealer, question on towing capacity

I just returned from my first significant towing trip with my V6. I bought the base package without the towing group and had the hitch and wiring added by the dealer. So there was no additional...

Re: Added a tow hitch at dealer, question on towing capacity

I had an OEM hitch added on to my Laredo V6 by the dealer. I tow close to 5k without issue. The only thing missing from my setup vs the factory installed version is the self leveling rear shocks. ...

Re: Towing thread

I been pleasantly suprised about the V6 with this load. Probably 45000-5K wet. Used a crappy tilted/crooked/wet ramp yesterday without any issues.

Re: Advice needed.. V6 or V8?

Needless to say, everyone thinks their own choice was the right one. And they are right. I bought the 6 and will tow 4500 lbs maybe 6-8 times a year. The V6 can handle it, but I will probably wish...
