Re: reasonable weight to tow with 3.6 pentastar.

I have a 2011 Overland V6, ORII (no trans cooler). The usual trans temp when not towing in the city is about 75-76, on the Hwy 76-78 degrees Celsius.

My wife and I towed a 2500lb (dry) PUP...

Re: What do these codes mean? Should I be concerned?

Well the Jeep is in the shop getting the cam phaser installed. They said its a big job and will take half the day. Hope this isn't a common occurrence.

Re: What do these codes mean? Should I be concerned?

Hey thanks for the info. I'm the type of guy who doesn't believe in coincidences and having this part crap out while I was test towing a heavy trailer just made me wonder, but it's nice to hear...

Re: What do these codes mean? Should I be concerned?

Well I just got back from the dealer. They said the "Cam phaser" needed to be replaced and they had to order the part. Does anyone know whether this is a big deal or not and whether test towing that...

Re: What do these codes mean? Should I be concerned?

Thanks for the info. I worked out what we take with us when camping. All in all I would be 600-700 under my absolute gross vehicle weight and towing weight so I've decided on a Jayco X19H which is...

Re: WK2 Hemi Towing

Anyone else have any experiences to add? I currently have a 2011 Overland V6 and am looking hard at a Jayco X213 travel trailer (4300lbs). I test towed it with the V6 and it'll do the job but I'm...

Re: What do these codes mean? Should I be concerned?

Well I spoke to the shop foreman and he said he wouldn't be concerned. He didn't recommend I pull a trailer weighing 4300 lbs because it would wear on the Jeep. This confuses me. Jeep gives these...

Re: What do these codes mean? Should I be concerned?

Ok sounds good. I just happened to be down at the shop again and was speaking with a tech. I told him I'd read about a few 3.6's blowing the 2nd cylinder. He said well that camshaft 2 code is related...

Re: V6 engine light on while towing?

Ok, so I just left the shop. They said they flashed the PCM and that if problems continue to return and they'll replace the PCM... I would hope that should I have further problems that they don't...

Re: V6 engine light on while towing?

Ok so I'm at the dealership right now and the tech just told me that the code (unknown exactly which one) told him the PCM needs to be replaced. He said its a common problem and he'll let me know if...

Re: ACC and towing?

Prior to posting this thread I had towed my 08' Fleetwood E1 tent trailer twice. Each trip was about 30 minutes South of town to a familiar camping site. The trip is primarily small hills and on each...

Re: ACC and towing?

Ha! I have regular cruise too! Hagahaha. It seems as though I keep finding things out about my Jeep every week. ;) So it shouldn't be an issue using regular ol' cruise while towing?

Re: Oil cap missing!

Yup. It's the oil filler cap. I have a strip of duct tape run across it now to keep debris out and oil in. I'm just taking the wife to work then off to the dealer.

Re: Oil cap missing!

Funny thing is that the salesman and I popped the hood the morning of the sale as it was brought in from another dealer and he hadn't looked under the hood of one yet. So the cap was there Thursday...

Re: What car are you dumping to make room for your WK2?

Hello all. New to the forum. My 2011 dark charcoal grey Overland should arrive tomorrow. I'll be trading in my heavily modded 09 Rubicon Unlimited. Wasn't a planned trade but after the wife had a...
