  1. Remove and reinstall rock rails?

    Interior/Exterior/Visual/Lighting
Well I refuse to go back to that dealer for various reasons. My Wk2 is a lease that I plan on keeping. I was thinking of bringing the bolt, washer and nut to the other dealer who I will do the lease buyout deal with and have them remove then reinstall rails. Or should I do it myself?
  2. Remove and reinstall rock rails?

    Interior/Exterior/Visual/Lighting
Hey so my local dealer installed the Mopar TH rock rails about 2 years ago. They used a plastic rivet instead of a steel bolt on the 6th hole going along the bottom of the doors for whatever reason. It's bothered me ever since. I was wondering if I should buy bolt, nut and washer and remove...
  3. Eco mode or not?

2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel 3.0
From my understanding sport mode helps regens happen more so if needed. What does Eco mode do? I used to keep it off and since the AEM update I kept it on and I do feel some lag but my MPG seems better.
  4. Rock Rails issue

    Interior/Exterior/Visual/Lighting
Hey so I had a local dealer install the trailhawk rock rails back in 2017. On the 6th hole they used a plastic rivet probably out of laziness or missing hardware. I questioned them and they said it's fine...whatever. Anyway it's been two years, since I am overly paranoid and obsessive I was...
  5. Full size spare option

    Suspension/Driveline/Brakes/Wheels/Tires
I bought a matching OEM 18" rim and with stock size tires I got it to fir, I aired it down, took bins out and I had to keep the jack somewhere else

  7. P0471 Exhaust sensor code

2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel 3.0
I have to look over the paperwork again but if that's the case I hope they honor it.
  8. P0471 Exhaust sensor code

2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel 3.0
Check engine light came on had AutoZone scan it it was a p0471 exhaust sensor code. I had the recall done a little over a month ago. This should be covered under the new warranty but my local Jeep dealers charge a $141 diagnostic fee is this something I can just replace myself even though...
  9. Oil leak help

2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel 3.0
Yep, I think I messed up lubing. Used old oil instead of new and fitment may have been off. Coupled with a possible counterfeit filter and overtorqued it was a recipe for disaster. Used new oil and made sure it was in the correct groove in plastic housing when I installed the STP filter.
  10. Oil leak help

2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel 3.0
Yes after I saw the leak, I unscrewed the filter and saw the O ring was shredded. I then left my Jeep where it was and took my wife's car to AutoZone and got an STP filter. I honestly think I bought a counterfeit Mopar filter from Amazon (link is in my 2nd post) and that's what caused the O...
  11. Oil leak help

2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel 3.0
Thanks for the info, I think your right spoke to my mechanic cousin he said your fine I think I had my wrench torqued at 45lb instead of 33lb which is spec he said that is nothing to worry unless it was like 100lb. I will probably just get a new plug with next oil change for my own sanity.
  12. Oil leak help

2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel 3.0
Well it looks like my filter may have been counterfeit. Here is the link of one I purchased: 68229402AA Engine Oil Filter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SXV55X1/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_AQMFDb5VW2799
  13. Oil leak help

2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel 3.0
Hey my 2016 ecodiesel limited may have a leak. I do my own oil changes, I changed it about 2 weeks ago and I always torque to spec however this time when torquing it the knob was turned way more than I realized and I think I overtorqued the filter and the drain plug. So I unscrewed them and...
  14. FCA to pay $650 Million in Diesel Emissions Case

2014+ Jeep Grand Cherokee Ecodiesel 3.0
So I have a question. I currently lease my 2016 wk2 diesel, I planned on keeping it anyway. How can I leverage this against US Bank when buyout approaches?
  15. Upper Control Arm question

    Suspension/Driveline/Brakes/Wheels/Tires
Now that Old Man Emu makes a lift kit for the 2016 WK2, I am considering it. However, no one makes aftermarket UCAs. I was told it is not needed if lift is 3" or under, but I also hear the opposite that any lift will shorten the lifespan of UCAs. Thoughts, comments?
