  1. Navigation acting strange...

Yeah, I would only be worried about that if I were a Terrorist, If anyone needs to know that I'm at the Tim Hortons drive thru they are welcomed to that info....:D

Funny thing is that mine started working normally again even though it is still with the original software (wouldn't recognize the update) so this discussion is showing a lot of variables in our Nav systems. You would think that FCA could send out a reliable OTA update to aid it's troubled...

Yeah, I mostly like it for the speed limit display and warning to keep me out of trouble.

Well I will be interested to see what the dealer says Tues. when I take it in for the U65 recall and a look at the Nav. BTW my Nav. is now working again with the original software ?? Jeep Cares gave me a few suggestions but, yada yada yada ...

Interestingly as I was driving home from making an appointment for this problem my Nav started working properly even though it has been stated that it wouldn't work after Nov. 3rd. and it still has the original 18.13.07 software......this stuff is driving me crazy....

I took my 2016 GC to my dealer today to schedule the U65 recall fix and mentioned the nav update issue. He said that they will look into that also and that there would be no cost to me. That's next Tuesday 19th. So I'll let you know what happens.

This may be why Strut Masters only offers a kit to 2015. I questioned them about this and they never replied even though they seem to brag about their tech support....Mike.

YES! .....that's it exactly, maybe satellite is falling out of orbit, lol

The update request came via the Uconnect screen and asked me to shut off my engine and acknowledge, which I did and it took about 4 minutes but, I really couldn't say what version it is .Would that information be listed in system information screen? thanks, Mike. Ps I did find information on how...
  12. Reliability of WK2

My only concern would be about the ECU not seeing the proper info once the QL is removed. Others have said that there is a "service QL" display which I could live with but, I wonder if it would not allow certain 4wd selections. Hopefully those that have done this will clear this up. I did read...

I feel the same about my QL, love it but, if it were to fail when miles are high I would want to go low budget on the fix. I did find this rear install video that gives an idea of what is done during the conversion.

Quadralift is reserved for all the high end vehicles because it's nice. An air hammer has a higher failure rate than a sledge. You are only reading the horror stories on these sites and not the millions of happy Quadralift owners. As for the extended warranty with all the fine print, I'll take...
  16. Trying to decide between 2019 5.7 Limited/Overland or Acura RDX

    Grand Cherokee - WK2 -
People always seem to equate the V8 with towing. In all vehicles a V8 is just better than a V6. They sound better than any other cylinder count, they are smoother and less buzzy and of course generally have more useable power. My wife has a V6 in her ride but, only because a V8 wasn't offered.
  17. Are 20 inch tires too big for a Grand Cherokee

    Suspension/Driveline/Brakes/Wheels/Tires
I have 20's on my 2016 Summit and don't notice the thumpy thing that you describe, it must be the brand of tire, I love the 20s. Jeep would never have put 20s on their Flagship GC if this were the case.
  18. Used Overland vs Summit

    Grand Cherokee - WK2 -
I have it on my Summit, given a choice I would have gotten chrome but, BMW says that chrome is dead and I see custom builds with sanded chrome for the platinum look so I guess I'm out of touch. Puzzles me though that it's a $1,000 option to replace chrome with silver paint ?? Either way they...
  19. Used Overland vs Summit

    Grand Cherokee - WK2 -
Yeah, in your case it might pay off. With my 2016 the best plan is 8 yrs from first day of service, so it's really only 5yrs which may be the point of things starting to fail. I'm banking on the long life of my last vehicle as a guide. It's a gamble either way I guess.
  20. Used Overland vs Summit

    Grand Cherokee - WK2 -
FWIW I purchased a 2016 Summit about 3 months ago with 35K miles and absolutely love it. Mine has the Hemi which I highly endorse. The air ride is like anything "high end", in that if you want it and like it you should be prepare to accept all that comes with it. My last vehicle (Denali) had...
