  1. RIPP Performance Coil Packs

    Engine Performance/Intakes/Exhausts
I would consider them a waste of money, I seem to remember a YouTube clip where they were tested on a stock motor on a dyno with no increase in output. Maybe justifiable if you had a supercharger.
  2. Close to 3 liters of water in rear perforated leather seat

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
I would get it out of the car and into an area of your home that is heated and let it dry naturally Turning on the seat heater was a fairly silly idea(sorry) as the element could easily have been destroyed Once dry use a good quality leather care (moisturiser) product and you should be ok
  3. Grand Cherokee Laredo 1997 4.0 V6

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
As Mongo said, I’m fairly sure the ZJ has no external pressure relief and certainly no sensor. So the low fuel pressure has to be a bad pump or lower electrical power to pump Also another option and I know this works on XJs would be to buy pass the external fuel filter It could have muck in...
  4. Grand Cherokee Laredo 1997 4.0 V6

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
No the crank angle sensor feeds the engine management a timing signal You could try the Australian site “ausjeepoffroad.com.au” You have a ZG Grand, and they have a forum dedicated to this model The ZG engine is closely related to the XJ and there are many sites to support this model Try...
  5. Grand Cherokee Laredo 1997 4.0 V6

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
Oh were to start, could be anything Although with 4.0l straight 6 jeeps the crank angle sensor is a likely culprit
  6. Whats your 0 to 60 time?

    Grand Cherokee - WK2 -
Probably the 8 speed auto helps
  7. Removing valve cover

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
I sympathise with you, and the worst part is you have to get it all back together before you can test if it’s all ok Grrr what a pain, keep at it, at least that’s one experience you can check off your bucket list Hehe
  8. Fuel Injectors Keep Going Bad

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
Injectors are a very basic item, it’s just a solenoid, power is applied it’s opens, power off its closed Typically they wear out and leak, or the solenoid coil fails, or connector fails, or on older vehicles the tip carbons up. It would be interesting to know what the actual problem is/was For...
  9. Removing valve cover

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
Those flat spots are for timing and are ok I think you need to rotate the cams so that the rocker is unloaded , valve close to check for loose rocker
  10. Right hand lower front door hinge

    Interior/Exterior/Visual/Lighting
Anyone able to suggest where I might look for this, not interested in a used part. 55113665AE This is the part number, but when I search it seems to be discontinued It’s the right hand front door lower hinge (makes the popping noise when opening and closing) RHD car I’ve searched to suit a...
  11. No power seats after battery disconnect

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
My bad I assumed the battery was under the passengers seat, I assumed we were talking about a WK2
  12. No power seats after battery disconnect

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
Probably knocked a connector when removing or replacing the battery box cover Probably the first place to look
  13. throttle body spacers

    Engine Performance/Intakes/Exhausts
Woah getting way to technical on me I just read the hype and thought hey I’ll give it a shot Doesn’t work, that’s it But at least I’m content in the knowledge that I tried it I’m not trying to reinvent the wheel and would agree that while manufacturers generally Wouldn’t leave to much on...
  14. throttle body spacers

    Engine Performance/Intakes/Exhausts
I agree 4 hole injectors and the later horse shoe style inlet manifold made a huge difference to my XJ With the WK it’s really hard to quantify. The reason I posted was to maybe assist others that may be considering one If you drive a V8 or a diesel you probably wouldn’t even consider it...
  15. throttle body spacers

    Engine Performance/Intakes/Exhausts
Your welcome to your opinion, but there are reputable parts suppliers that market these things. My attitude is that first hand experience in real world conditions counts. If your not interested don’t look/ read choice is yours But unless you have some first hand experience your comments are...
  16. throttle body spacers

    Engine Performance/Intakes/Exhausts
Ok I got a spacer, a Chinese knock off of the “airaid” spacer Fitted in 5 minutes, and cannot tell any difference, I read all the fors and againsts And decided to try it anyway The thing is more a restrictor than spacer and as such may increase intake air velocity There may be a slight...
  17. Key Fob battery

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
I keep a couple of spares in the glove box, as said it’s a simple job no tools required And no fear of getting stuck, works for me
  18. Removing valve cover

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
Gees why is everything so rusty, looks like it’s been soaking in salt water all it’s life, my 2011 3.6 looks new in comparison, even my 1994 XJ look new compared to your pics. Is it because of salt on your roads in winter
  19. Trying to make my wk2 with qt1 trail rated.

    Grand Cherokee - WK2 -
Personally I would keep the wk2 as my daily driver with mild to reasonable off road / trail capabilities, and then get an XJ and turn it into a beast. Ooh that’s what I have hahaha
  20. Unintended acceleration / torque dump from converter? Why? How to avoid?

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
Google BMW X5 lurch Coming to a slow stop the vehicle would hold second gear then milliseconds after stoping it would change to first and with such force you think you have been rear ended Good old ZF 6 speed autos Maybe you are experiencing something similar, I the case of the BM there was...
