  1. Does this brake fluid look like it's been flushed?

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
Not new. Should be nice and clear.
  2. 2019 V6 OIL issue questions..GC experts please advise

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
If OP cares at all about their powertrain warranty that statement is untrue. The oil must meet MS-6395 specification for the warranty if you have any lubricated part warranty claims. After the warranty period you can use whatever you'd like. Seeing that this is a 2019 with <5k they have a while...
  3. Extended Warranty suggestions

    Grand Cherokee - WK2 -
This is the only correct answer.
  4. 2019 V6 OIL issue questions..GC experts please advise

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
Penzoil Platinum and a Mopar filter. Both are cheap at Walmart. Run it until it the monitor says to change. 39% is plenty for a 1,000 mile trip.
  5. Volkswagen Jetta vs. Toyota Corolla ??

    Other Rides
Although you have your conclusion I just wanted to share our VW experience, we've had a 2003 Jetta 2.0 (8 valve N/A), 2015 Jetta TDI (repurchased through recall), and currently a 2013 GTI. All have been excellent cars. The 2003 was kept the longest and required rebuilding the suspension once we...
  6. 2017 Summit heading toward 3yr 36,000 warranty

    Grand Cherokee - WK2 -
Suspension is not part of the powertrain. I would read the fine print to see what exactly is covered. MaxCare through FCA would cover the most.
  7. 4.0 Bosche Fuel injectors

    Performance Modifications
On my 2001 XJ I upgraded to the 4 hole injectors. No noticeable difference in power or economy but I was having the typical cylinder 3 misfire on hot restarts. So when I installed the insulation kit/TSB from DEI I also did the upgraded injectors which cured the misfire.
  8. WK2 Wheel bearing & hub assembly

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
Rear bearings are pressed in. I've done a similar style bearing on the front of a VW with a special puller and it was easy. https://www.harborfreight.com/Front-Wheel-Drive-Bearing-Remover-and-Installer-Kit-21-Pc-63728.html
  9. How to reduce road/wind noise?

    Troubleshooting/Problems Discussion
Tires will cause a lot of noise. When I switch from the ATs I run in the summer to the Blizzaks in the winter there is a noticeable decrease. The less aggressive the tread pattern (and the better maintained the tire) the quieter they will be.
  10. 2014 overland air suspension parts

    Suspension/Driveline/Brakes/Wheels/Tires
Do you have the diagnostic software to deal with the system, access to high pressure nitrogen, and the proper fittings to fill the system with nitrogen? Have you reviewed the FSM to see what it takes to replace these components? Not exactly an easy system to work on but not impossible to DIY.
  11. Hi new member here. Just bought a 1998 Jeep Cherokee

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
Time to pick up a couple bottles of fluid (most synthetic fluid already has the modifier in it) and a tube of RTV. Cheap insurance to preserve the clutches.
  12. I am a New Jeep owner - 1996 Grand Cherokee - 118,000 Miles

    Grand Cherokee - ZJ
    Be safe regardless.
  13. 2017 3.6L V6 - Rear Diff Fluid

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
Oh good job. FYI there is no service interval for the transmission, lifetime fluid and all. Pair that with MaxCare and they can change the fluid when they rebuild it and you just have to pay the $100 deductible. :ROFLMAO:
  14. 2017 3.6L V6 - Rear Diff Fluid

    Trouble Shooting/Problems/Service
Diffs are super easy to service in these. I used Synthetic 75W-90 off the shelf at the parts store - Valvoline. I'm doing 40k mile intervals. Probably a bit early but fluid is cheap.
  15. I am a New Jeep owner - 1996 Grand Cherokee - 118,000 Miles

    Grand Cherokee - ZJ
If it's somewhat safe to drive take it on a gravel road and slam the brakes on to activate ABS. This is how I had to bleed the ABS is my old Explorer. The ABS system was standalone and basically no one had the tool to bleed it.
  16. I am a New Jeep owner - 1996 Grand Cherokee - 118,000 Miles

    Grand Cherokee - ZJ
I agree with this. I've done the simple method for years with no issue. If you have a rock hard pedal with the engine off I'd lean towards a possible failure of something else. Seals in the master cylinder gone bad from all the cycling/pressure?
  17. I am a New Jeep owner - 1996 Grand Cherokee - 118,000 Miles

    Grand Cherokee - ZJ
Have you tried to bleed the rear brakes at all?
  18. Trying to make my wk2 with qt1 trail rated.

    Grand Cherokee - WK2 -
You're going to need a lot of wiring, the transfer case module, and hopes that you can flip enough bits in AlfaOBD to make it all work. I've done enough research to confidently say it's possible to swap the eLSD in the QT2 equipped WK2 but going from QT1 to QT2 will also require wiring inside...
  19. What is needed to get offroad pages in 2015 WK2 Summit

    Audio/Visual/Navigation/Electronics
I've done the UAQ swap, I had issues with my first one (originally installed in a Grand Cherokee) and had to send it back. But it did have off road pages. I believe the unit had to be previously installed in a vehicle that was "off road pages compatible". My thought is the app is an OTA download...
  20. Trying to make my wk2 with qt1 trail rated.

    Grand Cherokee - WK2 -
You will really miss low range off road. You may want to consider swapping Jeeps before investing a lot into this one. You'd need to invest a lot into swapping transfer cases and getting everything to work other than going with a full manual transfer case (you might be the first!).
