Time to sort out the handbrake. I had drilled out all the spot welds from where the cables came into the cab under the donor's back seat. The threaded boss was where the fuel tank strap bolted in which you can see in the background on a separate bracket now as the fuel tank is only supported by...

Still more frame changes! I lowered the spare tyre winch cross member down so that the top was flush with the chassis after coming up with a better idea to make the bed floor sit flat on the chassis later on. Then I saw an opportunity to reduce the rear overhang as well, so off comes the cross...

The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry. Suffering from the flow on effect of adding the spare tyre under the floor. Things I had planned to put there now have to find a new home. The charcoal canister on the donor went on the outside of the rail here. I was just going to swap it to...

Not much was picture worthy this week so will only show a little bit of what was done to save boredom. I have always planned more bracing of the suspension tower to frame connection. I waited until I made sure I had the clearance needed first. I want to plate down to the inside of the frame...

Back from 5 weeks country and island hopping around the Mediterranean Sea. Ticked of bucket list items like diving inside a ship wreck off the coast of Cyprus, to climbing up and exploring the ancient ruins of Masada in Israel! Now to fit up the resonators. They had 3" S shaped bends welded on...

Just as well I am enjoying the build and in no rush to take short cuts to get it finished faster. :)

Well, the exhaust cannot run out the middle as per the factory centre outlets of the SRT model that the system was made for. I still had the factory single stainless system which is the same diameter, 70mm-2.75", as just one of the new pipes. Re-routing the right side was easy as I only had to...

Decided to extend the chassis to take the spare wheel. I had to add what was lost with the 100mm-4" step I put in as well. I turned the heat up to get good penetration. Crossmember welded back in place. I cut out a spare wheel carrier with a cable winch on it. Even though the winch just...

Here I have the rear guard blend into the step like it does on the front and added a rear one as well. Here the front part is level with the bottom of the cab and the rear under the frame skirt I had before. I left the rear as is and ran the front one under the cab.

One of my main worries since planning this build was how do you protect from the elements, and from sticky fingers nicking your stuff, things in the back? I thought a hard cover would be the best solution, but you lose a lot of height with the head board and tailgate only being as high as the...

Now why I have been looking at choosing my tyre size is that I have always wanted to put my spare under the bed on a cable winch like the donor had. But there is not enough length between the cross members and have the centrally mounted SRT Corsa exhaust in the way as well. Was pretty amazing...

Just looking at some lighting options. Looking at going to a reflector LED 7" round headlight that doesn't look too high tech. Has to be ADR approved to get it passed for registration. https://www.narva.com.au/products/72104 So with that in mind not sure if to go with the original...

Just making some lower radiator brackets. Going to weld them to the heavy duty OEM swaybar brackets as works out to be a very convenient spot. The mounts I folded up out of the 4mm-5/32", same as the swaybar brackets. Bolted back into place. These carry all the weight of the radiator...

With the radiator back in you can now see the clearance between the cross member and the fan support. This is where I want the grille body mounts to go, but it is not quite flat enough. So I used some 6mm-1/4" plate ground to fit the contour and make it perfectly level on top. Welded a nut...
