I have a 04 Liberty that is stuck in 4wheel hi. Any suggestions on what is causing this and how to fix

Welcome to the forum.
Is your Jeep an all wheel drive or do you have a transfer case shifter on the center console?

I haven't been under the jeep to check things yet, I was told that the bushings on the linkage could be worn out. Mine has the shifter for transfer case on center console. Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. Any advice is greatly appreciated. JC

Sounds like you have the old tried and true either a select trac NP242 or a command trac NP231 Tcase.
If the bushings are indeed shot replace them and perform a Tcase linkage adjustment.
There are Utube videos on how to adjust the linkage, not that difficult.
Also check and/or replace the Tcase fluid.

If lucky thats all thats wrong.
