My Jeep is exhibiting the same symptoms as many I have been reading about. It seems that the fix is to attempt to clean the ESM with contact cleaner or to replace the entire module itself. The only part I can find is part #68004143AF, but this part is only good up to 07 models. Does anybody know if cleaning works for an 09? Or a part number for an 09? Thank you!

The P0700 is just the generic code for the TCM detecting a malfunction. You'll have to pull that code with a better scanner (that can read transmission DTCs).

The 1491 and 1492 likely have very little to do with your symptoms. The 1491 is a fault in the fan relay and the 1492 has to do with a temperature sensor on the battery (I think...).

You'll likely get a better response posting in the correct forum, this is for 2005-2010 grand Cherokees (WKs). I don't think newer models even have those 1490 DTCs, so we will never have encountered them.
