Note- 24 year old, steady job, loves his current WK but have been slammed since the warranty ended with major repairs.

Looking for some advice. I've got an 07 GC Limited with about 70g on it right now. It will be 7 years mine in October. With the new GC hitting the streets I have been considering trading it in for a '13 Overland even though its more chrome than I am use to (maybe a trailhawk?). Do you guys think i'll be able to swing a decent deal out of it? I know there are a lot of variables but im finding a solid number of V8's around and I cant help but wonder how eager dealerships could be to make room for the new ones..

I really cant see myself doing a '14. I figure this next car will get me through another solid 5-7 years and then I can get my Wagoneer and restore an e-type. but I digress...

I'd say that dealers are eager to get rid of the '13s. I got mine for 11% below invoice roughly three weeks ago. If you like the '13s, go for it.

Deals can be found on the '13s but you kind of got to hurry on this as there are starting to not be many left. With all the discounts, 10% under invoice should be attainable.

My local dealership has quite a few 13's left. but that's mainly because its a shady place. however the dealership I bought mine from only has 4 13's left and a TON of 14's in transit with 3 on the lot. As for the Trailhawk its still fairly new a deal may be harder to score on it. The Chrome on the Overland is an easy fix. So don't waste time!

I got 7% under invoice on a 2013 model in February, plus they bought out my lease (2011 Patriot). They were pretty eager to make a deal. I'm happy with it, even after driving two different 2014 models -- I didn't think it was worth it. Prices have probably come down even more since then.

You've got some good advice, above. I will add that I prefer NOT to have to go through a series of menus to turn on/off heated seats, etc. I prefer hard buttons. I prefer the '13s. Great deals out there.

Im talking any, v6 or v8. I would try to get 10% under before any discounts. Not sure it would work but it can hurt.

Before any factory incentives? That would be a pretty damn steep discount

I bought a 2013 V6 back in November and regret it deeply, mainly due to the 5 speed vs. 8 speed tranny.

I would def. take both the 13 and 14 for a test drive to see what feel you prefer.

Could you elaborate please? It seems to me the door handles would require a complete replacement and is the mirror cap replaceable? If that's the case you are still looking a bit out of pocket to fix it up, of course its a whole nother story if the mirrors are not just 'capped'.


I find myself in a similar position to the TS, 07 with 82k. Except (knock on wood) my retired rental has no issues whatsoever and should give me another 80k easy, besides the stupid aux jack taking a dump on my radio. Reading thread with interest. Probably waiting on the 14 trailhawk for the new trans though.

The mirrors are just capped, and body colored can be bought or you can have the chrome ones painted to match. Also the door handles could be painted to match(that would be the most expensive part to have painted).

If you score a good enough deal you just saved the money to make up the cost of the mods. Also on members on here are always wanting to trade something. Say someone who has a laredo with body colored caps wants the chrome Mirror caps found on the Limited & up models its easy for them to post because a lot of members with those models are wanting to trade caps. Most popular I have seen is a person with a Black Laredo wants the chrome mirror caps off of a Limited, but there is always someone with a Black Overland wanting to trade to rid of some of the chrome. its the most cost effective way!!! and to beat that both members get what they want!

You should be pleased, that is an outrageous deal. Wow. So that is circa $35k for a V8 Overland, new?

That's gotta be below cost even with dealer hyper incentives to clear way for the '14's.

Must resist trading in my '11 for a '12 or '13 and swapping over the mods.
