Just curious, but what made you decide to do all LEDs on the exterior? I find the stock lights to be pretty decent, but is there a remarkable difference between OEM vs LED?

Just wondering. Awesome build by the way!

Mike
Thanks Mike! Appreciate the kind words!

First, the fogs on my 14' are a yellow-hue halogen bulb. They did not match the LED's, Halos or Headlights. Plus the light output was horrible. So I wanted a consistent look up front with more light. As you can see in the attached pictures, the Phillips H11's put out A LOT of light with a great cutoff. The dark pic is with no fogs, the other is fogs only (with Halos/LED strip)

Second, I live in a dark area and need to reverse a good distance on a regular basis. The OEM halogen bulbs also did not match as they have a yellow hue and the light output is minimal at best. I have now done 3 WK2 LED reverse replacements and the difference is amazing. It is almost like having HIDs in the reverse housing. Plus, when I am backing out of a parking spot at night, you can VERY easily see that I am in reverse...which is a nice additional safety feature.

Lastly, now all lighting matches in the 4300-6k range, which I highly prefer over the stock halogen yellow!! So for me, yes the difference is remarkable!!!

Trying to keep up with your a$$!!

SOO I decided to try and make my aFe Pro Dry-S heat-shield function more effectively. I bought some 2000 degree temp aluminum wrap and DEI high-temp adhesive/bonding spray. The amount I bought allowed me to cover 05% of the heat-shield that faces the engine, so I was happy with that. I took my time and cut everything precisely...even integrated the 5 bolts and 4 studs. The adhesive is an awesome pairing with the sticky-backed reflective "tape". You have 1-2 minutes to get both areas sprayed then adhered to ensure proper bonding. The DEI spray is forgiving and the excess comes off easily (I did tape off sections) and the aluminum wrap is great to work with (cut/trim...only downside is it can be difficult to remove the plastic backing to expose the adhesive on the wrap).

After 15 minutes, I was amazed how well the pieces I had cut were stuck to the shield. The corners line up great and based on the excess asdheive I used at the joints where 2 pieces meet, I do not think I will have peeling issues). Plus I cleaned all surfaces with 91% alcohol :) Ask any questions, pretty straight forward...took about 2 hours as I took my time and did all the akward angles. I measured twice and cut once, then trimmed as needed. Next will be the intake tube (I just like the matte-black finish too much :slapfight:)

Will report any changes in IAT readings...

Looks great. Awesome work as usual.

Just wish you'd stop coming up with more stuff for us to do...

By the way, thanks for the PM. I'll hit ya up later as I get close to pulling the trigger on the LEDs.

What do I do now?? I feel like I have hit a wall...please JG come up with some fairly cost-effective mods!

My list:
- Ported Throttle Body (85mm?)
- Sub in the spar-tire area
- Paint engine covers (hydro-dip or paint? color/finish??)

Keep em' rolling...

Also upgraded to the Passport MAX 360 radar detector...WOW is all I have to say. VERY impressed

+ REP for anyone who notices something "special" in one of the pics

SOOO the front end "black-out" is done! Take a look at the before and after...

There have been some threads on here about what looks better...and for me there is no question that the SRT (especially in white) looks better with the chrome delete. To me it compliments all of the other trim pieces much better...and looks MEAN when the beast is in someones rear-view mirror!

Be honest...to chrome or not chrome...what do you like best??

The all black looks sick! I want to do this to mine but having a hard time justifying spending the cash on the oem rings/fog pieces. Such a rip and from what I've read the other alternatives blow. Lol. But without a doubt it looks amazing! Great build thread and looking tight! 👍🏼👍🏼

Thank you for the kind words...I am hapy with how "he" has turned out. PM Me...I have a set of OEM painted PX8 grille rings that are not being used...we may be able to work something out. And the lowers are easy to pop off...I drove with them off for 3 weeks while I had them shipped out to my painter and you couldn't even tell!!

That is a cost effective way to do it...

I was looking at the passport max 360 also. Was easy to hard wire?

I know you said OEM but those look big! Is it just the angle? Only reason I ask is I'd love to find a oversized set for mine.

My Goliath's with the Toyo's are 295/45, so it is prolly just the angle....here are some OEM Spider Monkeys with the same tires

Installed a strut brace today...VERY happy with the fitment and increased tightness up front when throwing it into corners. Purchased from a vendor on here...great product and the powdercoating matches my white almost to perfection! Couple pics attached...
