I have just over 400 miles on my new GCSRT and have had a couple of problems and the dealer has no idea what is wrong, I was wondering if any of you were having similar issues. There are actually 3 different issues.

1. I was riding on the highway and I lost my whole instrument cluster. The screen in the center went blank, the tach, fuel, and temp all just dropped to 0. Jeep was still running fine. I pulled over, shut it off, waited a few minutes, then turned it back on again. Nothing. Drove home (without a speedometer is quite dangerous on the srt's lol), turned it off and back on again, nothing. Ended up pulling the battery cable, letting it set overnight, turned it back on, and it worked.

2. I was driving home again and the wipers came on and were going full force. Wipers on the turn signal knob were all in the off position. Tried messing with the controls and had nothing working. pulled over, shut it off, turned it back on, and nothing. When this happened, i had no blinkers or no steering wheel controls. Tried pulling the battery cable again when I got home, and nothing. Ended up pulling the rear wiper fuse to get the front wipers to stop (Dont ask me why... i have no clue). After this, i turned it off, turned it back on again, and the blinkers worked.

3. My sunroof will not close from the vent position. I press the auto close button, and it goes down, but pops right back up. the only way it will close is to open the sunroof completely and then close it from the open position.

4. My nice black chrome wheels are shy finish inside the small pockets. it isnt plated/finished in the corners and there is the raw metal. Im being told this is normal........

Needless to say I angrily drove the jeep to the dealer and it is there, i told them I do not want it back until its fixed. They said that no codes come up on the computer, so I know where this is going -__-.

I have been saving for 2.5 years for this jeep and all my excitement and anticipation has been killed over the past couple of days. I have had more issues with this jeep in 2 weeks then i have with my 07 srt charger since i got it. I am extremely frustrated and just want to dump the thing. If any of you have had similar issues please let me know!

Had a long conversation with SRT yesterday after the dealer keeps saying there shouldnt be any issues with it and everything is connected properly. Basically SRT's answer after going thru everything with them was "if you have the problems again take it to the dealer and see if they can correct the issue"... The woman was very nice but bottom line is she said that being I have one of the first ones of the model year off the line that they dont know of any problems yet. Its extremely frustrating, I was looking forward to taking it down to Moparpalooza in 2 weeks but am hesitant to take it that far away.

In talking with SRT and with the dealer it doesn't sound like they are going to do anything about the wheels because they say they can replace them all day long but will all have the same issues... apparently this is a "tolerance". I understand electrical problems and some glitches with having one of the first few jeeps off the assembly line, especially with the amount of electronics in it, But the quality on the wheels is not what I expect from a $69,000 car. I just don't know what to do to make it right.... doesn't seem to be anyone at srt or the dealer who cares enough

Wow that's a lot of electrical issues. Sounds like IP harness issues, but just a guess. Sorry to hear

looks like ur rain sensors are defected, the sun roof is jammed or the button is malfunctioning.

but the guages goin on and Off that is dangerous, thats why i prefer analog

Are there rain sensors that close the sun roof?

So far so good since I got the jeep back! the wheels are something I'm going to be addressing with SRT... according to the dealer they will gladly replace them, but cannot guarantee a better finish. So I'm sending them a bunch of pictures to see what can be done

Supposedly there was a loose ground somewhere... so far so good so I guess that was the problem causing the electrical freakouts

Good to know. That's not the first time I've read of bad grounding on these WK2s in other threads on this forum. Thanks for the update!

I'd like to know how hard can it be during vehicle assembly to tighten a ground properly to the chassis? Ridiculous

You hit it on the head Bob! Took delivery on 14 JGC Summit on May 3rd. I was setting up with a new hitch receiver when I noticed no power to the hitch. First thing I checked was the connection and it had not been plugged in. just hanging there. Plugged it in and everything was fine. Also finding trim that was just never seated. Having to go over everything. GROUND connection has now jumped to top of list!!

Not hard, but as Marlon pointed out, these cars are often in a each station for less than a minute. I'd guess they have to tweak those times a little to make sure that the average worker can get to everything required before it moves on. And, do it for 10 hours a day.

well I'm glad something was found to be the ROOT of your electrical problems..sometimes simple is GOOD:thumbsup: Now the wheels, that another story..I've got the Satin carbon split 5 spoke and they are flawless best of luck.
