I had a good day with my jeep today. I installed tow hook son my Summit (required cutting the front fascia). More got cut than i wanted but it will work.

I also finally got my new Nitto Terra Grapplers (265/50R20's) in at Discount and had them installed this afternoon. They look great, feel great and are no louder than the stock goodyears. Next week I will get some off-roading in and will see how they fair.

Love the tires. Now it's time to get out a file or something and smooth up the fascia edges around the tow hooks!!

I find it very hard to believe those are as quiet as the Forteria's.

On most pavements, there is little no no difference. On a few others, there is a slight hum, that goes away completely with a little music on.

Nice to see that you can atleast get some tow hooks installed in a working fashion on the Summit. Mine is on the way, so I may be doing this. Kinda important to have some recovery points on a Jeep!

I agree! I didn't want a $150 part make my decision for me on an Overland over a Summit. Once I was able to verify the mounts for the hooks were still there, I knew what I was going to do. Not the prettiest but it is functional. Plus, nobody but us fellow Jeepers will ever know/notice.

Been almost one year - can we get an update on the tires? Noise, wear, MPG?

It has been over a year, and I have 36,000 miles on the Nittos. I will say they did better off road, but with the south Texas mud i got stuck more than normal (no tire would have made a difference). I am very glad I installed the tow hooks, i had to be pulled out a half dozen times in the last year (once by dozer as I was so deep). See video.


Around 29k the tires started to get loud. Around 31k, they got unbearably loud around 40-50 mph, especially on asphalt. it hasnt gotten better, even with balancing and rotating. I wanted to wait till tread went done more, say 40k, but dont think i will wait that long. Just trying to decide what to get next
