I have a 2005 Grand with the 4.7L engine. The clicks fairly loud at first but quiets up after about 30 seconds. Yesterday morning as I was driving to work the first mile the car would jerk at 35 mph a little like it wasn't getting enough fuel, but after about 30 seconds this to went away. Later that evening I drove up to the mountains where the Jeep sat for about 2 hours. On the way down I heard what sounded like an exhaust leak with a very pronounced clicking noise. This too went away after about 5 minutes. Last week I changed the spark plugs to Bosch Platinum IR Fushion plugs. Could there be a link? I am running Mobil 1 full synthetic. Thanks!

Thanks for the info. I changed the plugs to NGK that uses the same heat range and gapping as the OEM's from Champion. The hesitation has gone away. The clicking noise is actually coming from the passengers side. I too was thinking exhaust manifold. I found a YouTube video that showed the exhaust manifold leak and the sound is similar, but not nearly as loud. I did check the heat shield for movement, but there wasn't any and I'm not seeing any carbon build up anywhere on the engine.
