Hello I have been having a small oil leak on my 2011 jeep grand cherokee 5.7L hemi. I recently got the oil pan gasket replace as it was leaking now it leak from another spot. I believe it's the rear main seal. I will attach pics to for a visual. Any information is appreciated.

Dealer did the same with mine. Went to another dealer found out there is a service bulletin that states to replace the whole oil pan if pan is removed. Wouldnt surprise me if its leaking from the pan again. They pulled mine off and swapped out to the new pan. I even told the first dealer about the SB when they did it they didnt want to hear it. Never went back to them obviously!

You could try putting in the heaviest oil that your owners manual recommends for your engine and see if that slows/stops the oil leak.

Very well could be the real main seal.... Just make sure it is coming out of that little hole and not running down the motor side of that cover plate... And based on what the other guy said it could be the pan again.... Even in the old days you would go around the pan and pound the holes flat, or put a little reverse dent in them to make sure the bolts were applying even pressure.... And not just pinching that little area.... Good luck, and hope it's not the rear main....

Could it be bolts working themselves loose over time, and they just need a re-torque? Might be worthy of a try?

i have a feeling this happened to me because few of the jeeps had an incorrect oil dip stick which used to show "add" after pouring 7 quarts, hence people used to overfill the oil. Maybe excess pressure due to excess oil resulted in the gasket to fail. i will attach the TSB link below. basically if your dipstick partnumber is ending with AC, its the wrong one and is about 1 inch shorter than the correct one.
