I have a 2018 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus.

My younger sister has a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Overland that has a temp gauge issue along with clunking under front end. Two different dealerships have gone through the car and failed to acknowledge or find the problem and fix it. Looking for some help.

When she starts her Jeep and drives a short period of time (5 min) then stops, as car is idling the temp gauge goes just under red line then back to middle.
Temp gauge is not digital, it is a needle. I think the gauge may be broken.

Also clunking under front end of car. I can ask her when that usually happens.
Jeep has 124,000 miles on it

If the temp gauge is going high then dropping back it would normally indicate a slow operating thermostat in the cooling system.
