Hey guys a few quick questions. My car is NOT looking like it'll last until the CRD comes out so I may need to run and pick something up within a week or two... and since there is a 2013 Black on Black Overland around here that I think the dealer would give a good deal on I might go for that. I am just a little too worried about the 2014 issues I've seen and might just get a 2013 for a few years until they sort it all out. But a few questions first:

-Do you guys think there is any way to swap the 2013 steering wheel with the 2014? I LOVE the 2014 steering wheel...

-The Overland comes with QuadraLift of course... do you guys think they finally figured out all the flaws with it by 2013? Saw some 2011's that had issues with that feature.

-What is the going discount on 2013's on the lot right now? I read someone got 11% under invoice... is this about going rate for this "OLD" model?

Lots of people are happy with the 13s, so that shouldn't be a problem if you go that route.

The logic of waiting a few years until they get the bugs out sounds good on the surface. But in a few years they will be trying to get the bugs out of the next new technology, whatever that may be.

The folks having problems with the 14s (myself included) are, for the most part, having annoying problems. The Jeeps are mostly getting people where they have to go, in comfort.

If you really like the 13 and can get a deal, go for it. But if more than the steering wheel attract you to the 14, don't shy away from it.

I just Bought a 2014 JGC Overland V8 last week thought about the 13 for a minute but just didn't like the 13 as much as the 14. IMO no mater if it's a 2011 or 2014 they all can have problems I would have hated getting the 13 because I thought it would be more reliable than the 14 first problem it would have had I would have been like damn should have just went with the 14. So buy which ever one you like better. All cars break I'd rather it break sooner than later to tell you the truth. my last suv didn't have a problem with it until right after the bumper to bumper was up that IMO is far worse than when it's under warranty. Just remember all cars break look at the F150 Recalls going on right now. Sticker Price on the 2014 was 50,880 I got it for 46,990 at 1.9 APR another dealer quoted me 45,550 but never on paper and I felt it was one of those get into finance and they make the difference up somewhere and when that happens I just get frustrated and hate everyone lol so i saved myself the frustration and paid what i thought was a fair price.

I love my 13, but I only have 8k miles on it. If you really like the looks of a 14 then get one of those but I think the looks are the biggest difference b/c they both drive the same.

Very likely. Dealers want them off their lots. I got 4% under invoice on my 2013 when I purchased in late February when 2014's were just starting to pick up. They were eager to move the 2013's out back then, so I'm sure it's even more so now. I probably could have done better than 4% under if they weren't buying out the lease on my 2011 Patriot.

I bought a 13 Overland V6 black on black on April 7th. I love it!! I got it for 8% under invoice. No issues at all. Just reached 3100 miles. I took it out to the river over the weekend and couldn't be happier. I used it to tow a 4500lb boat and I was amazed at how well the V6 did. Much better than my old 03 V8 Tahoe. The Quadralift worked perfect and balanced the truck out with the extra weight. I'm going to do a write up of the towing experience later. I read soo many posts and everyone has different opinions but I think you will be very happy with the 13.

I have a 13 Hemi Summit and love it. I don't like the front grill on the 14 and I'd be nervous getting a 14 with all the complaints. The whole "eco mode defaults to on" would drive my absolutely crazy.

I've been on a lot of car forums and I've never seen so many posts related to issues with the 14. Sounds like they need to figure a few things out...

see if you can get a good deal on the 13. I got mine a month ago for $42K for a 5.7 hemi Summit. However, as the 13s start to disappear, you won't be finding such great deals.....

For what it's worth, once I passed 800 miles, I stopped turning off the ECO mode. It is not nearly as sluggish as it once was. I don't even notice it. My only issues right now (fingers crossed) are UConnect-related. There is supposedly a mid-July fix in the works (again, fingers crossed). I love my '14 but if there's a deal to be had, go with the '13.
