I'm going to make two post I saw two Cherokee's this morning. The red Cherokee is a Limited and the Silver is a Latitude. Not as bad in person as I thought, but still not my cup of tea. I took these for you guys who haven't seen one in the flesh yet. Sorry it was dark when I was dropping my Jeep off this morning. Hope you guys like these!

Yea this Cherokee is definitely designed for a select few. Feature wise you cant beat the price. Aesthetic wise this could have been more appealing. I hope the vehicle does well. It was kind of funny this morning. In the shuttle van I was sitting beside a guy with a 99 4.0 6i red Cherokee Classic who had brought it in for an oil change at 156,000 miles. We were talking about the new Cherokee and he could have not been more graceful about his opinion on the 14 Cherokee. He simply said, "Someone out there will love the new Cherokee as much as I love my Cherokee classic".

A lot of folks posted late last year that they would never by a '14 Grand Cherokee. Some said the designers should be fired ... or worse. Today, their '14 Grand Cherokee is the best looking car they ever owned. :)

I think the same thing will happen with the Cherokee. But beyond that, I believe it will attract a lot of buyers who never considered a Jeep before.

I liked the looks when I first saw the pictures, and like it even more after sitting in one Wednesday. But I am not a Jeep die hard, only buying two Jeeps out of more than a dozen new cars over the years.

Time will tell.

I agree wholeheartedly bill. the Cherokees look a lot better in person. Unfortunately I wasn't able to sit in one as the service department is open way earlier than the dealership. Either way my personal opinion I definitely would not buy one for the exterior looks, however the interior is a different story.

personally since my 06 highlander got totaled a few months ago i was looking for a vehicle with many new safety innovations. i have enjoyed driving my wifes sienna on trips with the dynamic laser guided cruise control that manages the distances between cars and speeds up automatically when cars are farther away or slows down when they get closer.

i wanrted the collision avoidance features of the cruise and the blind spot detection and lane guidance thst is abpvaialable. I also found out about paralle parking capability.

no other vehicles except mercedes, minivans, lexus volvo xc60 and infinity had these features excep for the jeep grand and cherokee so ive been waiting to test drive the cheroke.

i doubt many of these may have this opyion so if i like it may end up ordering.

Saw a black limited at the dealership today. Didn't look too bad for $35K. They still haven't received the limited I ordered in august. Good thing I ordered a GC at the same time :D

While I could talk myself into accepting the front end of the car, the back end stops me cold from entertaining the idea it any further. It looks like the designers simply ran out of ideas when they settled on that large empty concave shape on the the back. To bad they didn't borrow from the Grand Cherokee instead.

are you getting both or just one ? how long would it take to order a grand ? did you get a good price on the grand ?
I took the one that came in, the GC. Took about 6 weeks. Like I said both were ordered at the same time and the Cherokee should be delivered around Thanksgiving. I ordered the Cherokee Limited with a bunch of options to have mostly what the GC Limited I ordered. The difference after green sheet was the Cherokee was about $3,500 less.

I am not sure the looks are for everyone and it certainly is growing on me (especially when the lights are all on, the LEDs really finish the look).

I will tell you this, the ones that are arriving at dealers are sold within hours of arrival (if not sold already). I got to take one for a little scoot around the dealer lot and it is a nice little vehicle.

The only thing I found is that the back seat is not great if you are approaching 6 feet (headroom wise). The rear cargo area seemed small but with the gate shaping it was actually better than I expected.

I want to see one without the Pano Roof now so I can see if that fixes the tall guy in the back seat issue.

Without the pano roof it's easy for a 6' tall person to sit in the back.
