DEF gauge not working (I have no idea if they actually put in fluid since it reads 0 or 100).
As far as I can tell, the DEF always shows 0 on the left and 100 on the right just to show the scale of the gauge. It won't give you an actual number, just a graphical indication on the gauge of how full it is. Would be nice if it did, like the % oil life remaining.

Thanks - good to know. We'll see when it decides to move as I drive more.

I agree the % would be nice to have.

Beautiful ride, I am hoping to soon join the club..

Crkwolf have you decided what you plan to order? I know you have been investigating all types of options.
Cheers all...

Thanks - although she's way too dirty. My luck was that it's rained/drizzled almost every day since I got it.

I can now understand the frustration of the rear camera as it gets dirty fast. I have a dedicated microfiber rag in my car now just for it.

Congrats to all you and your new JGCs.

Mine now has an estimated delivery of Jan. 22. My order was placed on Aug. 28 and after all the waiting with the first orders, around Thanksgiving my dealer called and said that mine had fallen off the transport.

So they started over with a est delivery of December 29. Now delivery is promised for Jan. 22. MOTS says it is in Chicago on a railcar so at least there is hope.

Picked mine up on Saturday out in Virginia. Full tank, no front plate but they did put on a sticker which they later took off. The limited is a bit different than the overland that my son has but not to the point I wish I went with the overland. His dash is really nice and I like that blind spot detector that comes with the Advanced technology package which I declined and honestly that is the only part of that that I think would be really nice to have.

On his the adaptive cruise just hits the brake way too often for me to consider it a good thing and my son says it often scares the crap out of him when someone goes to make a turn it hits his brakes and flashes a warning. I am an older guy and I do not need shocks like that on a daily basis.

I have to update the Uconnect which is not cooperating on my PC for some reason and do not respond to the email they reply with when you register it with your cell phone. It does not have all the functions and I ended up making a call to customer service that had me connected pretty quickly but I would have been fine if I just did it on a PC or laptop.

As I sit writing this it has just a bit over 300 miles. I reset the Average MPG gauge on the way home when I saw that it included mileage from the very beginning. When I got home it read almost 29 MPG. All highway and my house is pretty much down hill from the highway. The trip was generally uphill so I think it is close to indicative of my usual commute. I did fill the tank myself so that I could monitor the MPG etc on a spreadsheet I keep on every diesel I have owned. From the dealer home and some around town I got right around 28. I did not enter the info in yet but a quick calculation gets you close enough. From past experience my diesels got better mileage as they got more miles on them.

Part of the great mileage was because the dealer said ride it easy for the first 300 miles. Read the book where it says no break in needed for diesel. I probably averaged about 60 MPH where as I try to keep it around 65 or so when I am not in a hurry. I drive over 100 miles a day and saw what a big difference your driving habits can make. In any case when I was not paying attention the truck really can get going pretty fast with very little effort. I also am extremely impressed with the handling which I think is better than my Jetta was. I did not opt for the 20 inch tires so those that did will be even more impressed on the highway. But from mile one there was no feeling that I would have to get used to the way it handled as it is so easy to drive and not a handful like some other SUv's I have driven.

The ride is very quiet, again much more quiet than the Jetta and today on the cell the caller thought I was in my office because it sounded so quiet. The many things you can look at will certainly keep any geek happy. Oh they filled my tires to 34 PSI with a max of 44. I pumped them up Sunday.

If I had any complaint it would be that emergency brake. I got in the truck Sunday with work pants on and they hung up on the brake pad on two separate occasions. The paddles are easy to get at but in the way when you try hold onto the bars of the steering wheel. Finally the buttons that make your computer talk to you is located in the same spot as the Jetta and when backing into a spot it went off just like it did on the Jetta. Not sure of what command shuts it off so I end up hitting the button. On the Jetta, cancel was one of the few commands I knew. Oh my voice must be odd because voice recognition failed three times when I tried to call my wife. I got one of her numbers but not the home number. My son used it on the way to pick mine up and it worked perfectly so I need to figure out how to say it in a way that it would understand. I did lose Sirius for maybe 10 seconds in an area where there are naked trees and so I am hoping it was the station and not the antenna. In the Jetta you would only lose signal under bridges and covered fuel stations sometimes but that was it. Driving so much I hope that it was a random thing and not the way it operates all the time.

Oh the turning radius is incredible. Much tighter than the Jetta which to me is hard to imagine.

So far I am more impressed with this vehicle than I thought I could be. The negatives are really minor things and based on my personal preferences so to others it would not be an issue. Certainly, I do not see any of them becoming cause to think this vehicle is anything less than fantastic.

Man talk about late delivery. This can't happen often but it is one of the reasons I am not buying my Ziegler extended warranty until I am driving the beast back to Florida.
It makes my 2 month delivery time seem trivial.

You should have bought the diesel I ordered down here, it's still sitting on the lot. I couldn't wait any longer and got the HEMI®.

I have a question...does your Hemi have Select-Speed? on the Select terrain dial in the lower left hand switch is the vehicle picture facing down hill or is the vehicle on the level? Down hill is Hill Descent and on the level is Select-Speed. I really wish I had the select-speed which is Hill Descent and Hill Ascent. Can you check it and let me know?

Here's a photo. I knew this was a difference between the HEMI® and CRD. It was one of the minor tipping points when I decided to not wait any longer. I would have given it up for the CRD as I knew I was when I placed my original order for the CRD.

I haven't been reading much around here to notice whether they have added Select-speed to the Diesel or not yet. I also don't know if Milous has a date on that.

That closeup helps to remind me, my car really needs a good cleaning. One round trip to Massachusetts from Florida and back and she sure looks dirty up close.

Yes Sir! you have it!...the CRD is suspposed have it now but.....it isnt out yet. I think it will only be a reflash of the computer to add it unless the switch is different and I mean more than just the picture. Thanks for snapping the pic...I knew the Hemi had it....the Hemi with the ORA-II is the only JGC that currently has it!

Does anyone know if there is a newer revision of the inspection checklist that has been created from a lot of past experience? Only one I can find is rev 9. Thanks for all your work going into this list!

Not to minimize the effort that has gone into creating the checklist, but as a matter of practical experience, I found it to be simply too much to look at when I got to the dealer. As I recall I spent nearly a 1/2 hour and only got through the first page at which point the dealership was getting antsy to get my car prepped (they wanted me to see it before they did anything). I ended up then just giving everything a very good eye balling inside and out to get my checkout finished and then rode along while the dealership did their required test drive. I found that I could focus more on looking at the car and asking questions during that drive, and not worrying about driving the car. It worked out nicely. I would suggest narrowing the list down to a more practical list that can be accomplished in 30 minutes plus a test drive. Just my 2 cents....

I totally agree. It took me a full day to go over the checklist when I got home. At the dealer, just do a quick visual inspection. I have not heard of anyone not taking delivery due to the checklist. It you find issues later, bring it to the dealer for repairs.

Not sure if this only happened to me or if it is a way to save money but I now have 700 miles on my Limited and decided to see if the oil was holding up. Popped the hood and noticed that not only was my oil at the minimum line but so were two other other fluid levels. Power steering and Coolant were just at the minimum line and the coolant were probably just below.

No big deal until I decided to go get some to top them off. Coolant is a new formulation that cannot be mixed with any other type and cost 26+ a gallon. Power steering fluid is also expensive got some of that for 23 a pint maybe less. Enough to top it off but crazy expensive and it is not ATF 4 like the older models.

Could not find the right kind of oil and knew about how expensive that was from my prior ownership of TDI's. So much for my joy at how light the maintenance schedule was.

So I would check the levels. All I checked was the exhaust fluid. Shame on me.

I have my list printed but to be honest I plan to just make she is good to go and then do a more complete look when home. I am hanging out in southern Florida today was 75 but has been cold here too.
Excited to go get this Jeep so I can start using it.
Just hoping the fluids are good and I know from Shannon that I will need to get my own diesel and bring back the receipt.
Hoping Brainstormer is able to pick me up at the airport otherwise will take a taxi to River Oaks.
I am sure all the fluids and filter will come down in price once they become more common...

Once I printed out the list, I just tossed it at home and did the usual look around/through when I picked mine up. The less time at a dealership the better.

You're getting closer!
